I have a set of Type 3 Squareback pop out windows with all hardware for grabs. Could do with some new Rubbers, but serviceable as is.

Removed from a '69 Square.

I live in Adelaide (postcode 5066) and postage won't be a problem anywhere in OZ.

Looking for $90 + postage

Do thes windows totally replace the old ones? Is the rubber special to pop outs or does normal rubber work for them aswell?? thanks mate.

You'll have to find a wreck and cut the metal hinges from the pillar and weld them into a non-popout model.SB or Notch

I'm not sure if 1500S is correct? Not saying he/she is wrong, just saying I'm not sure. At the wreckers I looked at a 72 square that when I pulled the Vinyl back on the pillar had three holes in the pillar ready for the pop out hinge to attach too.

Attached is a pic and more below

All of the non-popout models had the holes/slots for the hinges in the lock pillar BUT no actual hinges and the holes for the screw plates where the latches screw on but no plates. There are two slots for the hinge plus the alignment holes where the hinges are in the lock pillar. If you cut the section from a wreck containing the hinge tongues you can drill the spot welds out to release the hinge plate from the pillar. With care you can juggle these plates thru the slots and fix them in place. Brazing or silver soldering is best. It is easier to cut the plate into two so it is easier to get them into place.

All of the short nose S/backs had popouts and the long nose models up to 1971 from memory. The 72 and 73 models were fixed in the s/backs as well as the Notch. None of the OZ built Notches had the popouts. Only the old up to 63 Notch as well as the fully imported 1500S from Aug 1963 to 1965 had the popouts.

Hope this helps. My first conversion was in 1968 and the last two in the late 90s. Thank heavens the last (present)one I built was a real one which had them from new!

If you need more convincing info send u2u.

Would this be an imported "S" model or what are these later models as there is no S badge on the back lid.

Imported S models were last produced in 1965 and therefore the short nose shape. The car in the pic has had popouts fitted from the earlier notches. Someone else answered your question sometime back on the long nose models....... UGLY! Only joking as I did own two of the 72 model S/backs in the 70s and 80s but prefer the early shape.

Added Imported S pic for your info.
