Greetings all,
I am after someone who either works with or knows a fair bit about home theatre systems.

I have a Sony STR-KSL5 receiver (sub and speakers) but no remote for the unit, but there is a remote available.
I have also just purchased a Sony RM-VL1000T Universal Remote that is supose to be default set to all Sony products.
Yet i can't get the remote to operate the receiver (and surround sound).

I have tried resetting the code for the reciever on the remote to the correct Sony code, yet it still does not work.

If there is anyone with any advice, i would greatly appreciate it.

Lee.

In these cases I always consult my teenage son, teenagers don't seem to have any problems fixing these types of problems

Bloody smart arse Becker :P:P

Well so far the remote has been the only part of the system i have paid for, so i ain't complaining.

Ok, so i have managed to hook up my TV, DVD and CD player to the remote (all non sony) and they work a treat.
I just can't get the remote to operate the sony reciever.:cussing

Costa, yes it is a learning remote, the only problem is that it learns off of the devices original remote🙁

Check out remotecentral.com if you haven't already. Some receivers have a choice of a couple of options for codes, reset by pushing a combination of buttons while standing on one leg.

Cheers
