WTB: T1 thermostat, bracket and rod

Hi, Does anyone have a thermostat (working), bracket and rod for a T1 engine? Surely with all these engines without them, they must be somewhere! Cheers Peter

VW Mechanics were told by VW australasia to take the thermostats off every beetle at the first service and chuck them in the bin....

Thats why You cannot find them.....
they were all thrown away......

A local VW Mechanic here [now retired] He used to just disconnect them and leave them there... so thats why there are still a very few still about....

Same thing happened in parts of the USA & canada,,,..

You can buy a new thermostat & rod & bracket from CIP1 in the USA..

They look nothing like the originals though....

I have a pic but its too large to post here...

They would help in the winter thats for sure...

I have one from CIP1 but it will have to wait until I take off the fan shroud again....
