What's the longest time you've had to go through without driving a VW?
Been only 2 weeks since I sold my beast and I'm missing it already! Upside is I should have my oval within a few weeks 😀
7 months.
im already over 2 months into my current dubless stint, which i forsee as lasting around... 2-3 years.
*shrug* if im fixing it up, i better fix it up properly aye? new engine, new wiring, new paint, new everything...
ive got 2 wheels, so im still happy... actually, a bit happier as i dont have to deal with traffic or petrol prices :P

this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
2-3 years?? you're insane! what model/year are you fixing up atm? sounds like it will be sweet when it's finished
a 68 beetle, nothing special... just going to take my time doing it (as weekends and uni holidays permit) and learn something in the process.
i do think i will be changing the rear apron to take the w-decklid though. i dont have the $$ or the guts to buy a real early model (im a bit attached to my current one 🙂

6 weeks! That was 17 years ago from the 24 April '88 onwards, I couldn't take it for too long so went and bought my buggy:bounce The wife has spent the following 17 years trying to come between us!!!!
15 years. Bugger.
Interesting how it seems only the vw drivers enjoy and appreciate their cars so much compared to most ford and holdern drivers, (not that they don't, but the majority of vw drivers seem to all love their cars).
I know I love them. If only Herbie was a women.
