Yep, after a great day at the Jamboree on Sunday i went to work on Monday only to dislocate my ankle an break my foot as well!! NOT HAPPY. Now i have to wait until i see my surgeon next tuesday to find out when the operation will be (i need to have the ankle joint fused).
Not feeling kind of lucky now as i still have my trip to the states in less that 7 weeks to the pomona swap, vw classic and all the vw shopping i can handle for 2 weeks with BugBoy and Mircomatt. Hope they hire wheel chairs or motorised scooters so i won't slow the boys up.

I at least have the forum to keep me amused, my wifes lap top comes in handy while in bed until i can get my sorry ass to the real PC.

One tip.... don't ever try to stop a 250kg switch board from falling......... let the bastard go..

That's a bummer Anth. If you cann't go and need somebody to use your ticket, I'm willing to offer my services.

So, if you did your ankle at work, does that mean it's a workers compo claim? It's one way to get rich!

Good tip.

damn,
but at least the one good thing is that if you get a motorised wheel chair, you can carry more than the others and play on the disabled thing at the swap meets 😉

Ouchy!

I hope you find a wheelchair in the US as I know how slow some foot injuries can take to heal. My brother had a bunch of operations in his early 20's and it wasn't fun.

Thats a big bummer mate.. big bummer.

I reckon you will be right. It will take a fair while and a lot of hard work for that ankle to be right, but it should be worth it in the end.

You'll go to the US. Probably with a disabled sticker, but man.. you can be the carry cart.. more an advantage that disadvantage!! Pile it up!

All the best from us too mate. We'll pop in on you soon enough!

bad luck stealthy, nath rang me and told me tonight. Hope you feel better soon mate.
If you go the wheel chair option in the states just get the boys to slam it first hey. And add heaps of bling and a aussieveedubbers sticker and you will be fine mate.
Oh and let me be the first to offer to go in your place mate. No sense wasting the ticket. Oh can you spot me a bit of flash money too!!! hee hee

Only kidding mate, get better soon. :thumb😀😀

My uncle drove his kombi with a leg in a cast. Not sure exactly how long his cast was, but know he had to take the seat out, and just sit on the wheel arch. nuts

Obviously from the photo, you haven't moved all day mate.
Hey is that chair a LHD model? Bugboy was right - a pair of sprintstars, and in the weeds for the chair should do the trick.

2 good things to come out of this.

1. We'll get preferential seating on the flight
2. You can carry more stuff!

Here's to a speedy recovery.

Had my operation on friday arvo, was on the table for nearly 2 1/2 hours :o

Have a total of 11 screws in my leg bone and anckle joint and a big plate that 8 screws go through, looks like tek screw city, i think my surgeon went to bunnings and got him self a new 18volt battery drill to try out on me 😉

Now i have a bone graft as well that was taken from the heel and a pretty smashed up cartlage :puke

No more good drugs on tap now (push the button, it will all go away), only the tablet form 🙁

Had lots of visitors today as well as my mum flying all the way down from Sydney with a dozen Krispy Kremes to make me smile and have the nurses lining up for a taste 😉 I'm not greedy ya know......

At least i have my lap top to log in and keep myself amused while wishing the pain away. Should be back home on Wednesday giving the missus the shits, but she loves me :kiss
Will post pics of the xrays soon..... they are fun to look at and see peoples reactions.

Cheers from the Freemasons funny handshake hospital.
