I've been here six weeks from Perth, I have lived here before, but this time it feels like I'm living in a Gary Numan album cover, some future land of tunnels, surrounded by robots driving modern souless motors. Where are all the dubs? I have been living in the Northern beaches, that may be some part of the problem but let's not go there, but I do a significant amount of milage each week all over the shop (in my poxy work car) but I don't see anywhere near the amount of VW's that I did in Perth. I saw a single cab split this morning north of Cronulla, an early bay yesterday on the freeway south of Sommersby...don't see type 3's, apart from one sqaureback for sale nr Manly...
Its unfair to compare but Perth used to be like those watercolour VW adverts of the 60's, you might see a different model all in one stretch of high st, or have I got my rose tinted glasses on....
glasses on dude for starters your deffinatly in the wrong part of town, north sydney AHAHAHAHAHAA all merc's bmw's ect, ect up there.
now in south western there are dubs a plenty :thumb :thumb like liverpool way 😉

in general theres not that many dubs in sydney compared to say up north.
im not sure about that tim cause there are like a dozen bugs, a few kombis and a white tpye 3

yeah but you drive into byron or even just around here and every third car is a kombi or beetle.. particulary kombi cause of the slackpackers. Even over the QLD border its like that. When i lived in Sydney you'd VERY rarely see a splitty and if you did it was the same ones.. Here theres quite a few that get around in such as small area.

In byron there are 14 splits owned by locals and i dont mean the ones sitting in yards waiting for restos, 14 daily drivers...9 of those are owned by forum members...
I only ever see my mates splits in Sydney, all dsk members of course

i too get about a bit with work, but most of my driving is on the northern beaches.
i saw a notch over in newtown last night that had a chop top convertible. looked kinda cool, but i was a bit drunk...
just slow down a litlle and look a bit closer 😉
