the golf has very good brakes, and very good traction on cornering

i saw a beautiful blue beetle parking on the side of the highway coming home tonight. pulled up and there was no-one there. wrote the licence plate down but it's in the car. (and i can't remember)

Good News! Ol Pige is home!
Picked her up friday avo. Looks a lot better and less rust, all nice new plate instead. They cut and shut the bonnet, no more ugly cancer, The scuttle is lookin great, and the front apron is like new. The only downer was they scratched the side of her in one spot and blew some paint on it, but didn't cut it back and buff it, so it stands out like dog's bollocks I didn't notice it when I picked her up, so Ill have to go back.
Im just happy to have her home, I missed her terribly. I don't know how ya stood being parted from Bel for so long Jenz!

And on a car note :
The oval pan has started to look like a car base again with the simple reattachment of the rear suspension setup. The front beam is almost ready for reassembly now that I have a new set of roller bearings to replace the pair that I stuffed up when extracting them from the beam.
The oval body is now booked in to have the metal work done by a panel beater, as sad as it sounds I am not paying for it... yet.... the debt for that part is being carried (and so the choice of worker was not mine either although I have no real problems with the choice) by someone else for the short term.
Reason behind that is that at the same time I am getting the type three mechanically worked on. Then he (the squares name is Osama) goes back to Steve (also known as Sven depending on who you talk to) for a bit more metal work and spraying to achieve his new final colour scheme. Picture a squareback with deep gloss grey on the body and a white roof 🙂 (oh no white walled tires but with a set of 4stud rivieras, a slightly aggressive stance and a full length roof rack 🙂)
Hopefully I can do some of the touch up works on the type three or more reassembly work on the oval while I am resting in a few weeks. But I hope to have Osama running for the Klubfest in mid May.
Has anyone replaced a set of type three door rubbers here? if so, what have you used to replace that funny square section that isn't pressed into the door edge? (hard to describe but when I get Osama back I'll try to take a opciture and ask again). I have a set for pressing into the door edge, but need to replace all the rubbers for the car as they have perished beyond help. Now have to source a good set of original style window rubbers (oh and I have a ste of pop pouts to go in as well 🙂) for the windscreem, rear sides and rear windows, the rear lid seal, front lid seal and maybe even look at replacing the head liner... but somehow I don't think that anyone makes a replacement for them so maybe a good clean or dye/paint job will be required.

Buggar about the paint inside...you do miss these things when you pick your ride up...I think it's the excitement of getting them back...how good they look at first until you start looking closely and notice detailed things...it should be an easy fix

Yeah PPL love it! My friend with the 23 window was saying he should have sold me the bus instead of Pige! she was parked mext to it at the coffee shop up at Kirra hill and their were more PPL looking at her, and then going to the bus. Its the flowers that get them. I was worried what my friend would have thought about it at first when I drove to his place to show him but he loved it. And the fact that it was a genuine Rosenthal made it OK!
