Hi Guys
Im new here.
Wanting to get rid of my current car while i can still get a decent trade in on it. (its not a vw)
Have been looking at Golfs i had one of those before the newer models are nice, but i have also seen some late 90's model Passats, does anyone know much about them? dont know alot about them?
Andrea
I don't know much technically about them, (don't much technically about anything to be honest !!!!). But I have driven a new one a couple of times when my New beetle was being serviced and it was like driving an arm chair, it is was comfy and smooth. I really like it !
🤘

Me neither! Yeah i have never driven a passat before well except for a really old one years ago i can imagine the new ones would be really smooth to drive better than what ive got now thats for sure. Just interested if anyone has had any problems with them.
Thanks Andy
Cool yeah i definitely want a car with a bit more grunt this time might go v6, and yeah ive noticed there is a few bargains out there late 90s model especiallly!
Hey, get te front end checked, i.e., ball joints, cv joints, control arms, these wear out around the 130tho mark, i had mine all done recently, apart from that area all has been great, economical, smooth, great sound system, safe..

pretty much the only german made vw passenger car sold here now I saw a turbo 1.8 98 model for sale the other week for $10,800 ono what a bargain I should have bought it
boy these things depreciate lucky for us bargain hunters heh!!:thumb
change the timing belt as soon as you get one. good cars, but a broken timing belt is an expensive excercise! (as it is on most new cars)
If it aint broke,
Make it go faster!!
