My folks have one its pretty good hasn't had too many problems easy to drive and has survived my brother and I learning to drive in it/ on our Ps so I guess they can take a bit of abuse too, ours has seen around 300ks and is a manual the second gear synchromesh is getting a bit hard on cold mornings but other then its great, though is has had an engine rebuild due to strange noises when we got it (turns out there was a set of rings sitting at the bottom of the rods on the crank!)

gday doc the audi 4cyl 80 is a strong and vary safe car..the e ngines will last up to 3-400,000 kms with only a cylinder head overhaul around the 200k range..the tune is critical to a long life ..the odd injector clean and the factory coolant will give good life....however check out a 94-97 golf these are by far a more reliable and enjoyable car for the same money either the i.8 or 2.0 litre are good ..diesels are my pick 1.9 turbo..my opinion price wise for the audi is more the 7k range cheers dsk member steve
