good idea for straight axle conversion ,except it will widen the track width by around 25mm each side also cheap dropped spindles bay and split

This is baically what I did to mine, but mine were adaptor plates that fit between the spring plate and the beetle box.
The only problem is that is does increase the track by 25 mm each side and you cannot fit standard split wheels as they wont fit on(hit the lip on the guard as mine is a 57 they have flat sides and no flare at the guard)
I am lucky that I wanted beetle solid wheels as they fit because the offset is differant.

Still think you cant beat an IRS.
