Have been able to "borrow" a new golf from the local dealership today while I have my bug serviced. They have given me the bottom of the range base model, but I LOVE IT. It is really nice, I want one ....

Hmmmmmmm ?????? GTI coming out soon ?????

got to paint the inside of ones boot yesterday, and did underneath today.. looks hella cool.. im getting the hang of making it all look factory original! 🙂

get to drive em around too this was a base model, but the TDi is very nice.. and last week i got to drive a R32 around...Ohhhh..Ohhh yeah🙂 - but it had no glass, or rear seats... or doors.. but i still got to drive it...

Drive an R32? That would have been SWEET

My local dealership had one in not so long ago, someone traded it in after a couple of hundred km's as they thought that it was too fast for them ..... I would have LOVED to take that one for a spin

Love the GTi's, its out back in my home country! looked into it, and my friends tested it and said its quick, power and performance goes better than the MK4 R32, as MK4 is just a bit too heavy to handle, as said.. and I believe the new tiptronic gear ratio is mad in the GTis ... its as quick as a formula 1 ... as said by the sales and magazines around ! sounds amazing!
Loved the interior with the classic GTi looking trim all around, red/black cross hatch..

and one last bit that confuses me... the price list table says Golf GTi (R32) on the top..

According to my local dealership, I spent a lot of time there smooching up to the Service manager, the Mk 5 Golf will be coming out in both a GTI and an R32 Version ........

The Golf V GTI is almost the same power and torque as the Forester - it's 147 kW vs 155 kw for the Forester XT 2.5, and with the lighter weight (1340 kg vs 1445 kg), lower centre of gravity, firmer suspension, bigger brakes (with less weight to haul down), and better tyres, it should be bit faster than the Forester. Only thing is the Golf, although it has more space for passengers, it will not carry quite so large a cargo as the Forrester, but it's not a huge difference as the Forester is deep down a Impreza soft roader.

I drove the new tdi golf today. Was very pleased. Was a 1.9tdi with the 6 spd auto. Went quite well considering it only had 600km on the clock. Was offered to take out the 2litre tdi but it was brand new so i declined. I'd have one any day of the week.
