About $25 - $40 for 2nd hand external CD burners.

Say hello speed errors. They aren't much chop.

You can buy a new internal one for less than $40.

If u got a USB flash drive, (sometimes refered to as a memory stick, flash pen, data cupling device, flash stick etc), back up the images on that. Otherwise, on an old floppy disk (if the images aren't too big), otherwise, if u got a network card, transfer it to another computer (which can be hard if network is not already configured).

Now, to get the hard copy, it can be a bit hard when it comes to installing a CD or DVD burner into a laptop. Its possible on some occasions, but can be a little tight for room. I have seen that you can get external CD burners that can plug into the USB and you can burn data onto a CD from the computer through the USB (The techy at school has one)

Now, call around to your computer shop, (Make sure u have already backed up the images on the USB flash drive or wateva u used), and ask if they can install a CD or DVD burner. (CD burners are cheaper, but hold less memory). If they say no (Due to the lack of room in the laptop), then ask about the CD burners that can plug in the USB (the external ones which i think the guy who started this post put up).

If they don't supply it, take the USB Flash drive to a friend's place who has a computer with a CD Burner, or even to that computer shop, and they should happily burn it on the CD for you. (The computer shop would obviously charge you). If ur really desperate, u could probably send them over the internet to a computer shop, requesting that they put it on a CD and post it back to you. It should be possible, but i don't know how they will go about charging you.

Well, thats my opinions. (Mainly knowledge i gained from my crazy brother doing a double degree in engineering (majoring in software) and a degree in Physics. Guess what, hes also thinking of doing a degree of mathematics once he finishes the previous 2.)

Cheers.
