hi i am thinking about getting a 58 or 59 beetle.but ones we have looked at dont ride to good compared to my 70 beetle .
so can you improve the ride???or is there any vw shops names and people to talk to about improving.

got a 59 beete from a deceased estat been in family 45 years they brought in from yard in hunter R & H Taylor,Drives ok even stops good to, just the colour not to pretty . Will get some pics.

I hate to admit it, but man, I think you're right....
...that's dangerous thinking...it'll start with improving the ride and before you know it you're into major modifications of all sorts ...not to mention verging on collector status :thumb
do the obvious suspension upgrades, irs and front end.
58 beetle on here with the work done - about $6k

The old Beetles ride ok, just add a lowered front end to them and the ride improves dramatically. They wont ride like a later Beetle but then again this is all partof the charm of the older Beetle. Also redo the seats with new foam and padding, this makes for a dramatic improvement too. Plus new Shockies and they do ride noticeably better.

Just slip it on a late model pan. Even with mods the early setup wont handle as good as the late model.

we got it from Patterson in hunter valley it was up for tender in the trading post, we also got boxes of parts ,2 motors ,4 gear boxes,neat dress rims, guards ,bonnet etc,too much stuff, to list very happy with the deal,😉
