haha, that is funny
.....good one 😀
We know it's not true :sandrine
I actually really enjoyed my time with one at Nambucca
That is funny !
I could never quite work out what people were saying to me when I cruised past with the top down. Now I can hey ?????
🤘
I have no idea why people say stuff about new beetles?
Its the same as a new mini. It was remade, Just never a classic of course.
I dont know why it is any different to other cars on the road?
Infact we have never had someone give a bad comment. I only ever get a thumbs up or people at the lights starring at it and nod there head.
My mate bagged them out till i showed him stats from Redbook that a Turbo 1.8 does the same 0-100km time as hes VS C/dore. Haha
Of course it's not a classic!! A classic is old, hence the title 'classic....but as much as I love the new beetle this made me laugh hehehe
It took me 2 minutes to work it now. NOW i get it. lol🙂

What i am trying to say is i dont under stand why people laugh at them. I have never heard one good reason?
I can see this turning into a flame thread.
FATBUG,
As a fellow New Bug owner I can see where you are coming from, but it's not really worth getting angry about ! People are gunna say whatever they want regardless. I used to get mighty pissed when people bagged the new bug and in some respects I still do, but now I am over it. I love my new bug with a passion and really don't care what people think. I am happy in the knowledge that I own a ripper car !!!! There is always gunna be debates about whether the new bug is better than the classic and vice versa, in fact if you play close attention you will find that some owners of older VW's ie: oval bugs and early big windows bag the crap out of "newer beetles" ie those made after 68.
I guess that part of fun with driving a VW new or old is that the "non believers" ie: the hyundai drivers will always take the piss out and you can just sit back and laugh at them for being sheep and following the crowd.
I don't think that this post was meant to be offensive to anyone it was just a bit of fun!!!!!!!!
It is great to see that you are passionate about new beetles, can't wait to see yours !
Trace
P.S the new bug is soooooooo not like any other car on the road

People bagged my current car. A lowered, mag wheeled, big stereo and exhausted family wagon. Each to their own I guess. It's for sale now so I can get a beetle.
I own a new bug and think that is funny 😉

hey, I drive a car that doesnt even have a fuel guage.
(I think all volksys are funny , that is part of their appeal.
round my way, the most common reaction "mainly from young
people" is they find my Oval funny)
Regards,Glenn>
lovin it, nb is cool
Personally i think its smart arse crack that could turn into cleaver marketing. Might catch on the same way valvo marketed there new range with the term,
Bloody Volvo drivers. 😉
1958 Beetle, 1966 VW Beetle, 1996 Holden Statesman!
Its an obsesion for engines and fuel.... 😏
If I was cruising in one on a nice morning with the top down, I wouldnt care what anyone called me!

Thats the same colour as mine. Its funny to watch people at the lights when they stare at your car and smile. Then their eyes drop down to the number plate and see NU BUG and the smile becomes a grin from ear to ear. It's a great feeling.
Hey Ms Cabrio, you got the seat warmers in action down in the deep cold south yet?
Yogie
Oh yeah !!!! Had em on today, it was sunny here so couldn't resist the urge to go for a cruise !!!!
Mine is the Aquarius blue, the only one I have ever seen down my way is one from South Yarra Volkswagen and it is plastered with their signs. See lots of the Harvest Moon ones and the Navy blue
I am sure that I have seen your cab Yogie, the plates NUBUG sound familiar !!!
Mine are TRACE3, nothing to do with the car, I am just an attention seeker I suppose !

I followed you in the Nambucca cruise last year.
Another funny thing to watch is when we tow our 68 that we have jus tfinished restoring. We bought an A frame draw bar to tow it with so we could get her to the upholsterer etc. EVERYONE stares at that combo.
Another thing you notice with the top down is the punch buggy happenings going on around you.

I don't think this was supposed to be a flame thread.... and it wasn't turning into one until you missed the point. It's an ad.... it was funny..... learn to laugh.
I know the purpose of the thread and i said i hope it doesnt turn into a flame.
But my questions was Why do people laugh at them.
I dont drive down the road an laugh at excel drivers
Just a question thats all.
