I've been told by a few VW shops that they've had no troubles with the Brazilian masters too...
so, what should I buy for my 54?

Take your current master to a Brake Place and get the to "Kit" it. This usually means putting new seals etc in it but if its rusty they will bore it and use a stainless liner. This is a good thing as it will probably last forever with a stainless liner.oval TOFU wrote:rekitted?

57kombi wrote:$53 each cylinder. with a 2 year guarantee.
Early kombis have 2 in each front wheel so the whole lot cost just over $300.
4 for the front and 2 for the back(the back are type 3 ones)
Cheers

Just make sure that the place doing the re-sleaving knows what they are doing. I've seen more than a few of these sleaved master cyl.s leak between the liner and the original bore.MikeM wrote:Take your current master to a Brake Place and get the to "Kit" it.
