once again something stolen off a vw. this time, aunger headlight protectors for T3 transporter.
now, to come into my driveway and the car is parked nose in, and steal these, you would have to know that it has them fitted to start with wouldn't you. nothing else was stolen. i have this feeling i know who it is. but what can you do?
please give your opinion and also who else has had stuff stolen recently, ie nationals etc.

But obviously, u dont want to wronglyfully accuse someone, but asking isn't accusing.
Ask em, and say how much u need em/miss em, how much $$ worth u lost, and how even if the thief took em, u are willing to just keep quiet about it if they give them back to u.
Check this web site:
www.totse.com, a crazy friend of mine says its got psyko crap about guns, killing and secret death moves and crap (weird and insane rubbish), but also has tips on detecting lies by observing the person u are talking to.
So check it for lie detecting tips, and good luk. It sux how there is so much scum why dont give a crap about us people who have the decency and kindness to not steal.
what are you talking about?
Country buggy said that he has a feeling that he may know who stole it. So it was just my opinion of how he should go about talking to this person he thinks is the thief.
But yeah, it was pretty crazy. :duh

chris, i dont think it would be a good idea for ANYONE to go around talking to someone they suspect of stealing... why?
im sure we have all heard enough of slander/lawsuits and saying the wrong thing, or HINTING at the wrong thing on this forum and people get up in arms.
imagine doing that face to face... not a good idea.
sure, if you happen to pass this person on the street and carry on with your normal chat, tell them you are pretty pissed someone stole your stuff, look them in the eye and just keep talking... fine.
bring their own karma on... going to someones door to suggest that you think they did it to see how they react is spectacularly obtuse and is likely to end in alot more trouble than its worth.
look like a class website... it and the million others like it on the www.
if you want to learn ways to realise when people are lying to you, get out into the real world and deal with real people, or get a psychology text book and read it.
in the beginning, the universe was created.
this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
haha, good response starbug...
super glue the suspects wiper blades to his windscreen. he won't know till it rains and by then he won't have a clue. :thumb
Problem: I got probed by Aliens last night...............and I think I like it!.........E.T call ME.

That's out of order. Sorry to hear it. I had something nicked in Sydney once and the worst part of it is 'another VW'er nicked this....? Jesus...'.
countrybuggy wrote:kalamunda
I thought Kalamunda was a good part of Perth.
We were thinking of moving to Roleystone....
too many hills in rolystone swan valley is the place to live.
why would someome pinch light covers, they aint dear and would save getting a hiding when caught!

Sorry to hear of your loss countrybuggy, I agree with starbuggy above about not confronting the person directly - there are two likely scenarios;
A) you ask them and they deny stealing them, you turn away still pi$$ed off, still missing the items but leave in a civil manner.
B) you ask them and they deny stealing them them, then they get aggressive about being accused, things escalate and who knows what happens.
I cannot see anyone admitting to stealing no matter how you phrase the question so apart from maybe instilling some guilt (if you can be sure they did steal them), not much can be achieved by the confrontation. I'd suggest reporting the theft to the authorities (I acknowledge that it would be very low on their priority list), and even though they will not track them down, at least you have submitted a report so if down the track you do somehow find out this person did steal them, you will have reference to which the authorities could then perhaps act....I don't know the law, but unless you were 100% positive your suspicions were correct the confrontation would not be beneficial.
Just my 2c.
I agree it would be pointless and denial would be the guaranteed response. Karma will one day catch up with this light-fingered waste of oxygen. (thems fight'n words)

Yep well said countrybuggy.
....I'm sorry to here about this....it's never good if our rides are tampered with 🙁
It can be just kids roaming the streets sometimes who do these sorts of things....
Yes and we do know that there are some people who do seek out a ride they know has accessories they want for what ever reason...well they would be silly to use them themselves so they probably sell on
Again this is another reason to close off the forum...so that it is less easy for unfriendly's to look in
Let's not take some comments any further than what they have...I've had one member express concern that this thread may escalate (and wanted it removed)...we've had enough of that recently...if it does get out of hand in anyway I will remove it to the sin bin
Cheers
Jen
...I can understand the frustration and anger so am allowing the thoughts to be expressed....we all do it when we have had something stolen......you go through all sorts of scenerios in our heads just be careful what you say out loud...cool

Hey I had a prick steal the personalizes rear number plate off my truck the other day... And THAT was Bolted on...!!!
I have a feeling I know who it was... So his name has been supplied to the Police when I reported the offence...!!!
I hate to admit it, but man, I think you're right....
...that's a pain...what was on the plates.....not that they could use them....and then the inconvenience of getting new plates.....it's worse than kids badging your car....I dread the thought
Its a pain in the arse when bits get knicked of yer car.
If it is kids, I'd like the same thing to happen to them in 10 or 20 years time and then see how they like it.

I can hear the conversation now......
countrybuggy - "nice weather we're having"
possible offender - "yeah been great"
countrybuggy - "damn shame the other night. someone nicked my headlight covers of my van"
possible offender - "oh yeah, that was me. Do you want them back"
countrybuggy - "yeah sure, if it's no trouble"
possible offender - "no trouble at all. I'll just get them. I've cleaned them up too"
countrybuggy - "good on ya. you're a great bloke"
possible offender - "no worries. anytime. glad I could help out"
.....if only......
