At last.
Someone who knows what a real rat is.
A real rat is a solid bus, nice wheels ,engine and faded or scruffy paint.
Some people think that just getting it on the road makes it a rat.
Rikki James has the ultimate rat, its a barny 23 . He has spent heaps doing it, has replaced all the sills , etc and done the brakes , drive train ,etc. in other words it is solid and safe but has worn old looking paint, it cost him more to do this that to restore it as he had to match the faded paint after doing all the welding.
Good luck with the ratting and yes ClassicVW(pacific) can supply all your splitty needs.

Everyone has a different view of what a rat is.
But the main point is that a rat isnt a bus thats been dragged out of a scrapyard after 30 years sitting and put through a dodgy RWC and will hardly make it from one town to the next and when you stop at the next junction another piece falls off.
I have the highest admiration of 'rats', my next project may be a ratty crew cab.

i like rats that pieces fall off, especially at traffic lights when people are looking... thats a rat to me
