Getting itchy feet and fancy seeing some more of Oz! Have a chance of possibly relocating at work and fancy Adelaide. Need some advise though. I could possibly work at Enfield or West Croydon.
I want to live near the beach and will most likely have to find my own way into work ( no van!). Which would be the best areas for me to search on for a place to live and which branch would be the best placed. Have to say i have looked at a few places and it's soooo cheap compared to Sydney.
If i get an idea on things i can fly down and have a look and get a better idea on places etc.
Also what's the vw scene like?? I know there is a good drag strip so cant be all bad. Be good if i knew a few folk down there if i did move.
Any help / advise would be great
Cheers Dan:thumb

anywhere is cheaper than sydney.adelaide is great you can go to a different church every sunday of the year and not leave the city centre.worst beer in australia, water nobody drinks, even dogs carry water bottles.one of the best spots in aus for a holiday but would not want to live there.
hi
the climate here is greatif you like out doors not like east always wet ihear nice for working on the car in the garage
if you have a job out doors great if indoors you cant wait to get out
to clear up the water issues its been years since you easteners have had our water its one of the better drops arround now we spent millions on filtration and has the better quality out of the tap than anybottled crap full of bugs
i have great teeth from always drinking it as thats the proof im 40ish no fillings and white teeth no cavities unlike others
lots of work to be had here from labour jobs if your unskilled to top paying ones for all skilled white or blue
and the cost of living is so cheap I own other properties and still manage a trip os yearly where else where can you do that i work contract what i want when i want money
hey eastern slaves
the foods great, the air is clean too
ive worked all over the world, & state and north for big bucks if you want to have ago you can do it
not slaving for the man than hours on the road to get home to go straight to bed only top get up early to get back on the road to make it to work to slave for nothing 24/7
Come to adelaide and have a life you wont regret it and live like a king not a peasant else where
the housings graet cheap to rent and cheaper to buy to invest, and if you get a job anywhere it would be less than 45 min fron anywhere in the car no matter which side of town
you choose croydons, 15 bus to city, same in car,
you can walk right arround the city if you want easy
its less than an hour from one side of city to other and thats in peak try that anywhere else i dought it minimal traffic here
I could go on but thats why i live here and no where else
cars rule here
Nice place lots VWs (desert stashes ) tram is good if you live near the line you can get to the beach or the city easy and quick. The city beaches are not great surfing beaches likle those of Sydney but are OK and the weather is amazing.
DONT BOTHER WITH THE WATER YOU CAN GET AT LEAST THREE VARIETIES OF COOPERS ON TAP ANYWHERE THIS ALONE IS REASON ENOUGH TO MOVE THERE. LOL

23 windows ...8 too many!
enfield is a bit of a ruffy but the local housing is cheap as
if i were you iw ould come and live western subs like Semaphore, largs bay, north haven but i bit more pricey but good beaches and the best vw's
just get a cheaper house and buy a kombi when you get here ,that way you can buy anywhere and drive
the houing prices are so different depending on where you want to go
you could be in the mid to high 4's for beach property 1930's polished floors and all that
or mid 2's for a place in Oakden (near enfield) 10 year old houses but nice area new shops ,heaps of transport
or my brother just got a place in enfield (next to the jail)
for mid 2's with lock up car port and pool ,granny flat out the back and a good solid 3 bedroom home
then if you are upper class you could go some where like Glenelg and have a shit beach fucked for parking and burn outs all night cause its about the only place to drive to
for about 5's or 6's
well if you need me to check out any houses for you let me know as my family get in to the property stuff
Paul
oh yer worst beer in australia
you must be kidding
COOPERS mate
churches hah
:partymore like buds
Thanks guys but I cant see Croydon? Where's the next biggest suburb to it?
So if i worked at either of these places i'd still be able to live near the water ? What suburbs shall i be looking at then? I have started looking at a few so i can get an idea on budgets.
Sounds all pretty good to me and a good number of dubs

If you want to be by the beach, then Largs/ semaphore/Port Adelaide and the suburbs just a little inner from these would be fine (Seaton, Findon, Rosewater). The latter would be a short drive or bikeride from the beach.. All are close to Grand Junction Road which will get you both to Croydon(closer to beach location) and Enfield(20 min from beach). The VW scene is good if you keep your ear to the ground. NOS stuff comes up occasionally, Volks Enthusiasts club is OK- the other is a retirement home, very vintage and old school(cal) inclined. Many nice VW's out there but they do not come out to play often.
Thanks this is the type of info i need! I would probably go for something in between beaches and city . Rents look good although i wouldnt be earning the same i do here in Sydney. Aslong as i can get a nice garage sorted and live close to the water i'm happy. I'm going to sort out a few more details and travel down for a w'end soon. Please keep the info coming , many thanks

Okay i'm getting a rough idea on where to live if i wanted to be by the water.
Next question is where would i look if i wanted some room , for a few cars , projects etc. Somewhere East of the city? Still close enough for work?
Thanks again , helps with $$$'s
