I'm so angry I could cry!
Some thoughtless little shit has ripped the badges off my type 3!
The back one that says volkswagen and then the VW logo from the front.
I know this happens all the time probably, but it doesnt make me feel any better. Why would someone do this???? They must be a fellow dubber.....my car is covered in VW stickers proclaiming my devotion and alleigence to various clubs and vw businesses......why do this to one of your own?
And it's not like my type 3 is glamourous......but its still my little treasure....... what annoys me even more is that the damn car doesn't even lock - they didnt go inside to steal anything - just ripped off my badges with a screwdriver.....scratching the already bad paintwork.
So....i'm upset (can you tell?)
I hate to think that anyone on this forum would be the kind of vw-lover that would steal badges...but if anyone does know anything about it...i'd be very interested in hearing from them.
My type 3 was parked on the street last night out the front of my mum's place just off lancaster rd hendra. the only other time it might have happened was when it was parked on the street yesterday at uni at kelvin grove QUT or briefly over lunch time in the car park at mega-mart cooparoo.
I'm pretty sure that it happened last night though, as a fair bit of traffic passes along that road, its near the hammo hotel and i guess maybe someone has been eye-ing it off for a while.
the other question now is......does any one have any spare badges they'd like to part with? if anyone saw my noisy white type 3 at the klub fest a fortnight ago they would know that my car isn't in very good nick....but i love it and at least a tiny bit of bling makes it look less shabby.

.
That's a horrible thing to have happen! *hugs*
I hope the little so-and-so's get it back on them three times worse. 😠
What year is it i may have some you can have

I'm pretty sure I saw a type 3 at klubfest. It doesn't matter how bad the car may look, in my opinion, any vee dub is a beaut.:P
Yes, it is a regular occurance that badges from ALL types of cars are stolen. One of my mate's had all four holden badges on his commodore standard rims stolen. They were used to cover the bolts on the wheels. Its pretty sad how people do such a thing.
Don't worry, i feel for ya.:kiss

Kids collect badges and often go out and rip em off, so it's probably not a dubber. Unfortunately cars with badges that aren't stickers are rare these days, so anything old is a target. Makes you mad doesn't it.
Hi lil dub
Sorry to hear about this, you must feel violated. When you get some new ones put them on with magnets so that you can remove them in dodgy area. Does anyone have some badges they are not using that they can donate to lil dub?
Steve
Sorry to hear it mate, i know exactly how you feel.. someone ripped the VW badge off the front of my 75 Kombi a while back 🙁
You must wanna rip there face off now, lol. Don't blame ya if u do.
Yeah, probably just some kids. We had some dickheads (pardon the language but they were) walking around the hyperdome shopping centre car park walking up to cars and bending the radio antennas and snapping em. They did that to so many of em', and as soon as we went to walk up to em' to tell to stop, they ran off.
Bending antennas, taking badges, geez. Bet kids 30 yrs ago never did that. I feel so much like a goody goody person compared them, feels wierd. I just can't understand why they can't have a little repect to other peoples property. Don't they realise its illegal and immoral? Idiots, it makes me so mad.:vader

Sorry to hear of your loss..... lil dub,
The idiots who did it probably didn't even think it would upset the owner......
Its just a trophy to them..... they probably don't think !!
If I had any badges I'd send them to You.....
Someone closer may have some spares.....
You see boxes of them at swap meets.....
but that still won't fix the scratches .....

Lil Dub,
Sorry to hear about the badges. Have looked, but all of mine have gone to other homes..........There is a swap meet at Banyo High School tomorrow, if you want to have a look there. Boys will be there around 7am. Good Luck

You have no idea how angry your story makes me ! There is nothng more than I hate in this world than stealing or damaging someone else's property. It doesn't matter if you car was a total heap or junk or if it was in showroom condition, it doesn't give someone else the right to either take something off it (or steal it completly!!!!) or damage it !
I am really sorry, lil dub. If I had some type 3 badges I would send them to you, but I don't think that you would want any new beetle badges ??????
Hopefully they cut their fingers on their screwdrivers and their wounds will become infected and they will get blood poisioning and die !!!!
🤘
Yeah, i am angry to mscabrio. Maybe those guys at the swap meet that have buckets of em are the ones who stole em, lol.

My condolences. It's always horrible when someone steals something. Especially from a prized dub.
A few years back I'd catch the train to TAFE, and parked my beetle at the train station every day. One day I got back and realised something was wrong. Some lousy so-and-so had swapped my nice shiny hubcaps with cruddy kerb damaged ones from their VW. They should be ashamed of themselves and I hope that the shame consumed them fully. That is a very bad type of dubber.
I know the caps weren't mine. I had wide rims that stuck out further than the caps. Anyway, they were fine when I left.
And my poor Kombi is missing its front logo. Has been for a loooong time now. Someone nicked that too. And some other nasty individual destroyed all its locks with a screwdriver. Oh, and someone stole the choke wiring too. Argh!!! I hate thieves!!!!!
Hopefully you'll find some nice badges. The paint wasn't too damaged was it?
I remember one person had their badges stolen when their car was in the NRMA depot in kattomba. Very soon after a repaint. Was done with a screwdriver. Damaged the paint badly. Poor bloke.

anyone developed a personal forcefield yet, be nice to have around a car these days. 🙂
Maybe, if you have a car cover or wateva, and u flop it over, and chain it to the tyres (so no one can steal the cover), you might have some protection. Unless they are really determined that they would rip through it.
Alarms are always good, proximity alarms that is. Just keep a spare battery. lol

Right. What you need is this:
*A remote control TX RX pair
*An electric motor
*A powerful battery
*A mace or other flail type weapon
Mount the motor vertically on the top of your car.
Attach the mace (or similar) to the motor.
Wire the car alarm remote reciever to the motor and battery.
When you leave the car, activate the defense mechanism. Its spinning ring of death will deter all but the most determined thieves.
hope that at least made some of you feel a little bit better. 🙂

Yeah, lets just hope the swinging mace doesn't do more damage to the car then the thugs would. lol
Oh, and don't forget to have a couple of drone guns, and a few guards walking around. A few angry, hungry dogs too. Always good. lol

maybe it should be an angry, hungry dog attached to the shaft with a gun..no a laser beam on it's head! Oh, and put socks on its feet so it doesn't scuff the duco.
