I have a car in the Type 3 Registry that has matching VIN's for the body and pan that show the car to be a 65 model. However, the car is registered as a 67, and has paperwork that show the dealer inspection date as being in 67.

Were there situations like this, where a car is sold a year or two after it was originally built?

Thanks for any help or insight into this question.

i think it is a common occurence nowadays... lots of cars imported or built and then sold whenever they can... so often the registration date and build date are different years.
see.... air and water do mix 😉

Thanks for the info. I have also heard that sometimes they dissassemble the cars before they ship them over to Australia, and then reassemble them after they arrive. Things certainly are interesting in this part of the world.

Thanks again,
