Hi all
I have a 66 beetle shell for sale. Has all the guards, bonnet, decklid and all the glass as well. Doors are good for parts.
Only has 1 small dent in the car, but has had a poor smoothing job done on the rear apron. I dont know how to resize my pics, and its a 1.3meg file sooooo....
I am also relisting my CB Race stroker crank, 82mm, brand new, VW journals to suit type 1 case. Brand new never used.
Lastly I have a 1776 that I bought a while back but have never used. I have no idea whats been done in regards to the build of it (being honest here). All I do know is that it has LOTS of compression (compared to my 1500 lol), is a 1776 and has case savers. I had it running when I bought it a few years ago, but dont have the time or space to do anything with it now. It will come with a brand new Empi merged header (no muffler), think its 1'5/8, and its ceramic coated.
Also an empi dual plane manifold with an imaculate weber DGV. Manifold is also excellent.
Car body is $100. Crank is $500 firm, and motor and accessories is $1400 local or $1500 if I have to crate it up.
You can contact me on 0402 906 849, or via email gorn@aapt.net.au
The body and motor are in Atwell WA, and the crank is here in Bicton WA 6157.
Think thats it, sorry its so long a post lol :thumb

Gorn,

How bad are the doors ? I need a pair of 60's beetle doors for my 62 baja as the previous owner backed it through a gate with the drivers side open.... and bent it 'just a little bit'.

Are the hinge pins shagged on them or ok ?

I'm in Bertram (Kwinana) so can come and have a geezer anytime pretty much.

Pity I cant justify the 82mm crank..... would be nice to build a stroker.

PS if you could email the photos (one at a time, my account cant take emails bigger than 2mb) to sweetmd@bp.com would be great.

Cheers,

Doug

Good question mate! lol
Think I have 3 doors, and I know 1 had been used at some stage as a lifting point, which stuffed the top of it.
The other 2 from memory have the usual cancer in the lower sills. No dents that I can remember (their stored at a mates place}
Your quite welcome to come and have a look if you like, but as I work afternoon shift I will need to work a time out with you.
Pics of the shell are on the way, dont have pics of the doors and other stuff Im afraid. :thumb

Got the photos, the body looks pretty good for $100.

You had me for a while, I could only see two right hand doors, and no left..... 🙂 If the doors are straight and the hinge pins are not shagged I would definetely be interested in them if you would separate from the car ?

It would be Sat morning before I got a chance to have a look anyways.

Yeah, the body is very good for the price, just needs some sanding and TLC. If I can help it I dont want to seperate stuff, as its taking up room at my mates place and has to go, hence low price. Your still welcome to come and have a look. Maybe I can tempt you lol. I wont get a chance to look at the doors for you myself till the weekend.
Drop me a line, and we can organise a time if you like.

Gorn,

I've spoken to the ministress of finances and sorted some room in my shed 🙂 I'll give you a call tomorrow morning (not too early as I know you work afternoon shift - I'll wait till 9.30 or 10 or something) and would like to come around and have a look at the body on saturday morning maybe ?

Now interested in the whole body, hope I still have first dibs.

Cheers,

Doug

Hi Dumone
Hmmmm, I thought I may get asked this question.
At the moment naturally I'd rather sell it all together.
Having said that, if I get no'one wanting it as is, then I may consider parting it out.
Give me a week or so, and I will let you know.
If I do part out, your on the top of the list for first go.
Cheers :thumb

Aaron,

Sorry mate I had a hectic couple of days and never got back to you - I will give it a miss thanks mate.

To anybody else thinking about having a look at this shell - definately do it, you wont find better for $100. It has had significant rust work done already (both sills and a few other areas), has 4 doors and all panels with it and is very straight also.

Cheers,

Doug

If someone buys the motor complete, really they are only paying about $700 for the long motor, which in any way shape or form is a bargain. Plus some tasty bits as in the pics posted comes to $1400. Laughing if you want one :P

Could you please u2u me with a price for what that merged header would cost new?

I understand if this is a pain and you can't be stuffed, so consider this a friendly bump otherwise. 😀

I have had some enquiries about seperate sales of the exhaust and carby/intake manifold from my motor.
For anyone who is interested, I would be after $450 for the exhaust and $260 for the carby (DGV) with manifold plus the usual dual port manifold bits and pieces.

Is the shell still available? Seriously interested if it's as described.
