Ben has only had the kombi for 5 mins, why is he selling it?
Is he sick of VW's already?

second year apprentice + two cars + likes to go out with his mates and spend all his money + frustrated with not being able to paint, do the interior and put a big engine in it for less than $200 + dad being on his back about fixing it up so he can actually drive it = take the easy way and sell it.
Probably for the best...his heart really isn't in it

Just let me add that it drives well and is mechanically sound, it just needs a new headlight dipper switch as the headlights aren't working which means he can't drive it at night....other than that its in good nick....and its already lowered

Well, as for Ben, at least he owned a VW once 🙂 maybe he'll come back sometime, but these things happen.

Bruce
I'll email Tim and ask him if he can get the rims to you. Didn't mean to throw work at you, just thought you guys spoke pretty frequently down your way (Mind you, I have no idea where Tim lives in relation to Byron bay!!)

Okay, on the VW, am starting to rebuild the gearbox, but as usual may have another idea as to what I want. So I may even have a spare gearbox at the end of the day... not sure yet though! Hopefully the front beam will be dry and started to be rebuilt and on the pan by Thurs or so of next week (incl spindles, ball joints etc).

Howdy folks
Spose yas have all been wondering where I have been!
Things have been pretty busy. I have been doing a bit of work on Pige and the 66. Went away on the bike last weekend got pinched for speeding, but had a great time anyway. Saw the dregs of wintersun on monday. Been catching up with long lost friends and talking to a friend thats over in Berlin at the moment, he's looking for a Blaupunkt radio for Pige for me, and a couple of other nice period goodie's. This weekend Im off to Mudgereeba swap.

Finally found the prob with the beetle...turned out to be the coil shorting out...noticed a spark jumping from the HT lead to one of the terminals.
Pulled it off and found the nose of the coil all cracked...replaced it and away it went...just need to fix the idle prob now.

Hey penguin you haven't got a 30PICT carb have you.

Carby all fixed...turned out to be some weird shit happening with the choke so I pulled it off...works fine now.

Rainy cold day in Brissy today...good day for spending in the shed doing all those niggly little jobs.

Might go down and rebiuld the spare master cyl for the notch..the one in there is leaking a bit. Need to make sure all the brakes are good if I take this new job...120k's a day in the old girl.

Started on teh gearbox but ended up draining the oil from the bike.... weird how that happens :duh
Anyways, Kafer, am not getting the Riveiras now (will explain later, but no fault of Tims, he's doing the right thing by me there), so we can just switch the tyres and rims over whenever you want as Osama is staying at the Base for a while to come yet, and when I buy new tyres for the Subie and the beetle, I can get a set for him as well. Should be able to get a good discount as my Dad wants to get a set of tyres for his toyota at the same time... four full sets of tyres 🙂 (three Michilens and one 4WD)
So any hint as to teh new job? still with Boing boing???
