Hey Gibbo,

I used a product a few years ago called 'Jet'...I think it was a Wattyl product but I could be mistaken. Price for 5 litres from memory was around $100-150 or so, but then again It might be a little cheaper. The stuff wasnt bad but you have to make sure all the grease and oil stains are cleaned properly, or it wont stick (much like any paint). I think it's also best to etch the concrete after cleaning with some diluted hydorchloric acid and wash that down with water, letting it dry before painting. It generally wears pretty well, and is easily touvhed up if a spot lifts.

As for suppliers, try Bunnings, The Paint Spot and other major paint shops.

Hope this helps,

Steve

Sorry Gibbo..my memory cant quite recall. Your best bet would be to pop down to your local Bunnings and have a squiz on the can!

What you're looking for is dependent on a number of factors, like how long you want it to last, and what type of colour/ finish you want. A good easy one is Berger Jet Dry, get it in non-slip, it cleans easier than textured, and is better than going for a skate on the gloss version.
It also sticks like shit to a blanket. 60 bucks should cover four litres. One litre covers anywhere from 6 to 10 sq m depending on surface porosity and texture (if it's steel floated, it gets great coverage....)
it is a good idea to give the concrete a bit of a clean down with hydrochloric acid (one part to four water should be fine, scrub it in and wash it off after a few minutes of frothing) if it's in a bad way, or is fresh (freshly laid concrete should be allowed to cure for at least a few weeks before sealing or overcoating). minimum of two coats, if it's cold give it a couple of days between coats.
another good one to check out is white knight's version of paving paint, called 'ultra pave' not as stinky as jet dry, and has pretty good wear characteristics. I *think* it's water-based, so cleanup is a bit easier. should be under 70 bucks for four litres.
cheaper option (but not as hard wearing) is any of the exterior grade acrylics like dulux weathershield, wattyl solagard, duralex sunmaster, pascol sunscreen etc etc) the range of available colours is much greater in ext. acrylic, but that's the only reason i'd use it as a paving paint.

do some before and after pics and show us your floor 😉 waaaay easier to keep clean and find wandering and dropped bits once it's sealed and painted.... just pick a good colour :thumb

and if you're REALLY lucky you'll find someone who knows what he's talking about at Bunnings 😉

With the big profit from the shell sale you should buy gold paint.

We have half a double garage which doubles as a hair salon, painted the floor with a goog quality dulux paving paint and got two coats from 5 litres.
The stuff is a tuff as nails and quite often gets hair colour and stuff spilled on it and just cleans off. Car gets driven on it every day and has been down for 18 months. I think it cost around $70 for the 5 litres.

If the floor is smooth you will need to acid etch it first.. i did mine with hydrochloric acid like the stuff you use in pools and it also gets rid of some of the stains....cleans your feet up nice two.

for dented cans of jet dry a trip to the tool dept [read HAMMER] will ensure correct size and colour is available to purchase .
i started with nothing and have most of it left !
