I understand fuel efficiency changes depending on the way you drive, size of engine etc etc. But I was wondering how many k's people get per litre.
I found this hard to work out because I never really fully empty it because there doesn't appear to be a fuel light. But this could be out by a couple of k's if not more but roughly 10 litre's per 100k's.
I would have expected a little better than this, but I'm not complaining becuase 100k's cost about $25 in my last car. Keep in mind this is all mainly city driving.
Used to get Sydney to Canberra in my 1916... 35 litres for 350km

I get about 110ks out of 10 liters. I have a twin carb 2l kombi. The right size tires make a differance. I do 85kph maybe 90 if I have to but quite frankly the fuel just vanishes above that. The engine is fully reconed but at this speed it will last forever. I use unleaded as that was what was in it when it was tuned and the tappets set. She backfires a bit with leaded.
I am traveling round this country for a year so that is open road. While I am in Melbourne the ks from a liter drop.
Philip
I get about 11km per L if I am really patient (the strength of 40 horses!) but usually 10km/L.
It should get a bit better when I fix those dragging brakes and give the engine a good tune up :party
speeding is bad!
relax - god's in charge

I get round 8-8.5km/L round town
the more of a run the more i get.
Best i have got is 14km/L out of my mild 1776 with twin IDFs - but 10's is average on a slight highway (say if some trips Sydney to Penrith is involved)
Presently running a mild 1916 with stock exhaust and carb
This is in a 75L
Dont even ask about the 2L auto kombi 😎

I manage 10-11 litres per 100km in Genevieve, but it's mostly highway driving at 100kph. She does at least 600km per week on the standard 2l motor but I've just had the carbies rebuilt. Will be rebuilding the motor shortly with a bigger cam and pistons and maybe fit 40 webbers, but not sure how this will affect consumption. More concerned with everyday reliability and I'm prepared to sacrifice a little economy for this.
G'day, the Desert Splitty does about 5ks/litre, but hey thats cause every long trip I've done was with trailer on or towing a Bay 180ks. The best it's done was around 10ks/litre (not towing). The last place I lived fuel was $1.70/lt but still a small price to pay for the enjoyment of driving a Splitty allround the Outback. 13,500ks in 12 months.

Excentric (wife says) VW nut, having owned 250+ VWs in 40 years.
when i had the new engine, and was driving nicely could get 9L per 100km, inlcuding abit of hioghway driving. I have had the carbies retuned and they run alot richer to get better top end, and now i get about 13km/100km and on the track and when putting my foot down about 200km from a L bug tank................. 🙁
but then if i plant it below 3k and use full throtle it look like a turbo car..........
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!
get about 8L/100k 2L motor 5sp manual
see.... air and water do mix 😉

the best way to check is to fill up and note the odometer. then when you've covered exactly 100 or 200km pull in to the nearest petrol station and fill up (whether you need to or not). the rest is self explanatory.
Clever. I did that the first time I filled up but my problem was I couldn't remember if I had put in 20 or 25 litres.

I would have expected that in city driving.....
probably 10L/100kms on the open road without any hills....
