G'day peoples,
I've built up to longblock stage a beautiful 1835cc engine that I now have to sell because I am broke as buggery. Below are the details of the engine and I am looking for $1835..... well make it $1800. Any questions feel free to fire away and many more pics can be provided, hopefully the list of parts below will answer most queries... I'm keen to see it go to a good home.
Cheers,
Dustin.
LIST OF PARTS:
New Engle 110 Cam
New Tappets
New Cam Bearings
New Main Bearings
New Mahle 92mm Piston and Cylinders and Rings
New Push Rod Tubes
New HD(26mm) oil pump
Reco'ed performance heads with 40mm inlet and 35.5mm exhaust stainless steel valves
New 8mm head studs
New Aluminium Valve Covers
New Chromoly Rocker Shafts (not new rockers)
New Gasket Complete Engine Gaskets and Seals

Std Counterweighted 69mm crank
Bored out beetle case with heli coils for the new 8mm studs
Std cleaned up push rods

I also have a big bunch of extras to go with it *you can take the lot or pick and choose) including:
All repainted tinware
Fanhousing and Generator with fan (includes 12V regulator)
Set of high performance spark plug leads
12 Volt Flywheel
Cleaned up fuel pump
Apprpriate NGK spark plugs
Bus adapter plate with bus cross bar (big thing) if you'd like to put it in a bus.

That's about the whole shabang, it cost me a lot more to build then I'm selling it for and I reckon it is a very fair price so hopefully it can make somebody happy. Thanks for reading through my long long post, now time for some pics.
Cheers,
Dustin

Are you sure that crank is counterweighted?

It's the standard crank that came out of the 1600 engine. Here's a better shot from when I was dismantling the engine that I used the case and crank from. I believe it is counterweighted as that what it looks like, but if counterweighted looks different and that isn't counterweighted please tell me.... I didn't look into cranks really as this one was in good nick.

The counter weighted crank has little blades welded (or forged or cast) onto it

The price is now $1500 because I need a quick sale. There are heaps of new quality parts and it is worth much more than $1500 in just parts. Anyways hope someone snaps it up.
Cheers,
Dustin
P.S would have done earlier but have been enjoying the beautiful sights of Tassie in the old bus (it didn't miss a beat!)

I made the engine with alot of attention to detail and advice from VW mechanics as to what parts to use. I also got a mechanic to check over it once it reached the longblock stage, so it is a well built engine.
Cheers,
Dustin

Hmm a lot of potential there.....

I'd be inclined to pull it down, drop in a 73mm off set ground welded CW crank and a set of 5.5" chevy big ended scat h-beams, drop the CR to 7:1 and of course add a TURBO! There's an easy 250HP combination there!

I'd reckon for about another $800-900 for the rods and crank your 2/3's of the way there.

Tis now SOLD.
Iswinkels that does sound like a ripper combo, but you'd need new pistons and cylinders wouldn't you with the longer stroke.

Thanks bizarre (feel your sentiment).

Anyways cheers for interest but is now off to a new home.

Cheers,
Dustin
