Sam, I think it is the one from te Aussie Mag. In fact I think I have that mag with the article in my garage. From memory it was dipped and had a lot of rust (don't they all!). I saw it at Boris's picnic day, and it looked good indeed. Putting those cups under a ghia is no mean feat either.
Let me know if you want me to gid the mag out.

im just curious as to how good this car is, i dont hav any experience with ghias so im not sure where to look, and it may b a new member of my family fingers crossed. its for sale for $29,000, would u pay that for a customised ghia? its a 62 model. pobjoy 1916 etc...

Ring Vintage Vee Dub 02-9789-1777 they have done most of the work on it.
The colour isnt right in that pic.
it was built by hairy john harris. hairy does some excelent work. complete from the ground up.
from what i hear there was some cut and shut, as one complete section was grafted to another. plus heaps and heaps and heaps of work and detail.

It was boggy rusty mess that Steve had called the black panzer - painted matt black with leapord seat covers. Yeah hairy did all the work on it - was a major job. Had a load of repair work done to it. Korschey might know some more inside info on 43257911. $29k I reckon is top dollar, but hey it's had a lot of work done to it.
ive seen that in old vw mags, yeah seems like a few ppl hav doen work to it, we wil ring around and get some more info b4 deciding on it

was in a mag i have, the guy who buit it had a back oval aswell, was nice in the mag, its a diahiatsu colour i think or it has diahiatsu seats in it, cant remember, but i know i wanted it after reading the article, mite dig it up when i get all my stuff back, just hope i didnt throw it out amongst all the other crap i had, btw it wasnt a vw mag it was in, think it may of been a unigue cars possibly

the engine has done no k's yet,, i juss run it every now and then to charge the battery although I like to drive it on my 1.23 acres very comy orig seats...all electrics work and are neat. doors are perf fit with new hinges , and latches. cmpl signage and resto glove box
oh and it's ported and polished with unleaded seats and stainless steel valves.
Heads are new, have to look up if they are GBerg or Aussie ones
anyway will see Jim (the teach Sunday)

Yes it is Steve Walmsley's car. It was also featured in Fast Fours a year or so ago.
