I dont often go into the for sales area, but when I do, i get frustrated by the 'bump' thing. I'm not having a go at anyone in particular but personally, (in the immortal words of Dame Pauline) I dont like it. There are some for sale threads that consist mainly of bump, bump, bump. more bumps than parramatta road.
I have discovered that it is a heavy traffic area, and threads fairly quickly dissappear. I see why you might want to bump your items up. But it kinda rips other people off by bumping theirs off. If everyone did it, it would be a bump-athon. Perhaps their should be an unwritten etiquette law that says no more than one bump a week or fortnight or whatever.
And thats all I have to say about that.

haha, andy thats funny...where is that thread, someone usually drags it up every few months...
Amazer,
What I do is go in and edit my last bump and delete it and then re bump it...surely its better for the seller also...
I feel it's the sellers perogative if they want to keep their car in focus. I'm selling my car at the moment, and I'll put my hand up and say I've bumped it. I've never had a problem with it, and now that I'm selling something, I still don't have a problem with it still. 😀
I can understand what you're trying to get at, but ultimately it's the sellers responsibility to do what they want if they feel it's going to help them sell their car. 👍
By the way....if someone is after a Cabriolet 🤓..... now thread whoring and stealing - that's the one that gets me. Let me tell you a little story about...... :blah:blah:blah
I think editing and re bumping is the way to go, when a forsale gets onto 2 pages, its not good for the advertising...i deleted some of my posts off 62delux when he was selling his bay and it went back to one page...

I don't mind it. I only look at the 1st page so if something drops out of it, I miss it. If you don't look at the 4 Sale that often, why does it bother you that much then?

baaah you're all a bunch of bumping bumpwits.😂
I posted a reply on my own thread... which turned out to be a stupid post... and thought with all the rules that are in B&S (which I havent read btw :P) I might get in trouble for bumping but neeeh its all cool no prob.
why dont I like it? because if someone posts a wanted/for sale, it dissappears off the page in a couple of hours because of people bumping. OR if I am looking to buy something and I see a thread at the top of the list for it and say whoo hoo theres one... but then you find its from that same guy and its still the same one that you've already seen thats wrong colour, wrong side, wrong year or wrong price. At the moment theres about 20 people with for sales and wanteds on the front page, now if they all bump every day, how does the 21st trader get his/her ad on the front page? But if bumpings OK, dont matter, I will just bump my brakes thing for eternity until I get given a set for my 56. SWEEEEEEET

Not as many bumps may be needed in the parts section if some ppl didn't do a post for each item, I thought there was a rule against that anyway?
It just gets annoying when the front page has to 10 items from the same seller. 🤪
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!

That's right....I forgot it's not BA.
What annoys me more is people with multiple listings with only 1 item in each post. This is a direct violation of the forum rules as per this ammendment:
http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=35871
There is one user at the moment who has about 7 threads with 1 item in each that they continually bump.
🤪
Have a look at the For Sale Parts forum and you will see what I mean:
http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=68
Personally I think bumping is OK in moderation, multiple single item threads is not.
Thats my 2c
What annoys me is all the posts that say "if only It was advertised last week" or "I'll have the money at Xmas" or "you will regret selling that" or "good luck with the sale".
Or maybe they are just friendly 'bumps'
Cheers
Dave
What we need around here is some more rules. There are so many moderators with nothin to do they need help.
It must be hard to be creative and actually say something about your item/car instead of the b word. posting another pic does the trick as well.
But what we really need is some more rules; for sure.
i highly doubt that a majority oif members have even read all the rules, but the idea of another pic of the iem for sale is a good one picture do tell a thousand word u know 😉
