HOWEVER I can't argue with this, with our first Kombi a total shitbox with everything that you could possibly find wrong in a Kombi (except for the heads) which was our training exercise, I was rather dubious about all the strange noises from the motor & the occasional oil warning light coming on, l had not yet learn't that where I was checkig the oil at home - full on the dipstick was really the low marK!! so shoved a bottle of Nulon in to extend the engine a bit, all went well until I went to lunch had to go a long way quick & THREW the kombi through a round-about - Oil light came on & stayed on, there was nowhere to stop & I was going to a shopping centre anyway pull ed over over after 7 ks of heavy stop start traffic (Old Windsor Road for those in the know!) & checked the oil - way below the low mark - no rattles- thought what the hell & remembered the original Nulon demo of a Torana doing Sydney Melbourne with o oil in the sump & kept going, the way I felt the motor could blow up & I would happily walk away- forever- went to Big W & bought 600ml Oil & oil light still would not go out so got a lift back to work & organised a tow Truck Home, when I got back to the car to await the tow truck 3 Hours later I started the now cool motor still Oil light on & it sounded like a Bucket OF Bolts (all the motor tolerences had opened up) hoisted the arse end up on the tow & $80 later home, started the to drive in the back yard - oil light went out, quite motor & 3000 hard kilometers later it was still running strong the tow had primed the pump
😎 interesting--- & true - or in other words if the bottom end of your motor is crook & you want to keep going just that little bit longer you have nothing to lose except $10.00
