Early Type 3 pans were painted a dark grey colour, same as they used on Country Buggy pans from 1967 onwards.'
Does anyone know the Dulux (now PPG) colour code as I cannot track it down from literature I have?
Any assistance will be appreciated.Thanks

Possibly, there is no code. In the 'good ol days' I know Holden used to paint its engine bays with a horrible mix of all the left-over paint form the production line... this 'colour' used to channge from day to day depending on how many light/dark cars were coming down the production line... Some original old Holdens have bays that are almost oyster coloured while others are almost black, depending on where and when it was built. Could VW have done the same?
You might have to get a colour match from a sample
