I hope this is a lesson for you young PPL, get in early and get yourself a block of land unit or small house. If I would have started when I was childless I would be on easy street now. I wasted a lot of money when I was young and now Im paying for it! I always used to say "Im young and I have plenty of time yet", Ill just wait for tomorrow, that was 20 years ago!

Well all this house buying talk is depressing.We are madly saving so we can hopefully buy something before we start breeding so hopefully the house market will stay staedy for a while but in saying that its still totally over the top & i don't know how young people are expected to buy something & possibly start a family as well,the whole deal freaks me out.
Your place looks cool Hellbus.Theres so many cute little weatherbords i've been noticing around the croydon/Ringwood area so its good to hear you paid under 300(which is just insane & you don't get much for under that,eh!!!)but as you said it still needs heaps of work & a garage.Nice size backyard though,plenty of room for a big garage.
Rob,i feel for you with the renting crap.Whenever any sort of letter comes from our real estate agents i always freak out before i open it hoping we don't need to move out coz the thought is just a nightmare.Hopefully it won't happen till we're ready to buy (if that ever happens!!)

Slept in (Holiday for Brissie Show, I didn't take the Ippie show day off), looked for bolts for the car, will have to go out to Brendale on Fri or Sat to get some as the small shop I went to had little stocks.
Apart from that, watched TV.

I have found locking them in one room (suggest bathroom, tiles are so much easier to clean) for a few days, then into the house (but not outside yet) for a few more days. Then contemplate the big outdoors.
Sorry if thats saying/teaching to suck eggs, just I had that told to me when I adopted a cat out in Woomera and it seemd to work even though her 'old territory' was just around the corner from my house.

i never knew cats were so spazo when they moved :o although my dog kept gettin out when i moved and walking back to my old house, which is like 5 km's away ❗

That's cool Penguin. We moved with the cat about 4 years ago and he had spent his entire 6 years of his life so far in one house only. When we got to the new house, he just sort of lay flat on the floor and was looking around 100 miles an hour and sniffing like a bastard. 🤪
We put him in the laundry for a week with a litter tray and when it needed emptying we sprinkled it all along the boundry of the property. Not real hygenic, but it composes. Then when we let the cat out after a week, he could smell his familiar scent and felt he had a territory. 🙂 The new house has a big German Sheperd dog next door on one side, so he won't go that way. The street is a very short no through road, and we have an alleyway on the other side.
