Hey guys, is it easy enough to convert a type 3 (flat)engine to fit a beetle?

yeah it is you just have to have the dipstick converter and other than that its basically the same motor

Yes very easy as long as you have a upright kit from a beetle engine. (fan housing, gen stans ,etc) and as barls said dipstick converter which you should be able to buy from your local VW dealer for about $15.00. I did it just a few months ago in a day with out rushing and lost of breaks.

just be careful with those dipstick converters, they are rather fragile
