I will have Hoodjax for sale at Sawtell. Cost is $70. Fitting Hoodjax is easy, but I'll be taking my tools to Sawtell and in exchange for a can of Universal Currency, I'll fit 'em for ya on the spot. This special offer ends at BBQ dinner time on Saturday... but will commence again on Sunday when I crawl out of bed.

Get in before summer... and I've only got seven sets in stock, so first in, first served!nn[ Edited on 25-8-2005 by VWCOOL ]

No such thing as a silly question...
Hoodjax props open the top of a Beetle engine lid. This results in better, cooler running with less stumbles due to hot carbs and hot fuel. It also provides an extra 'safety margin' with oil temperatures (typically, a 10 degrees drop in temp) especially in summer and especially with early-model cars with non-vented engine lids.

Hoodjax is removable so you can have the lid open on hot days, or closed when it is cold and raining or when maximum perfomance is not required

Thanks to Mr Penrose for this pic of his f-k-n fast Oval 'open' with Hoodjax

It's a shockingly bad design,

Unlike the "other" versions of propping open the decklid, which are fixed and cannot be closed without use of tools to remove them. This awful design comes with clips, that pull out and allow you to "shut up shop" in 30secs.
I'd like to meet the bloke/s who invented them, cause this product pisses me off it's so easy to use.

I've had one version or another since 1990, I'd much rather have something that doesn't work so easy and costs me the same amount of money.

Lol!

I've got a set of the fixed ones from Volksbahn (I think), cost $LOTS, but never bothered with them ... if some beetle person wants them. But yer deck lid is open all the time, and no I won't fit them, but will post them.
