Hi All,
i have these lenses with the wiggly lines, old insignia and all the right no's etc but no VW logo at the top of the glass, would these be the right ones to go on my restored 54?

yep they would be good for yr car. The VW logo ones were only on some cars.
Thats why the bludgers are so expencive! my 56 has the original lense's and they don't have the VW logo on the top. My chrome trims have the bosch logo on them though. haven't seen a lot of those either.

they look the same as mine Heath, and mine are the originals.

These are on an un-restored 54. The little tab at the bottom where the light is screwed to the body curls back under. Correct for 54 only apparentlynn[ Edited on 8-9-2005 by 65busser ]
t54, my oval has them with the logo on the top as is the above pic..
however,i am interested in the ones without em if you up for selling them..

For correctness you need to have the adjusting screws at 9 and 12 oclock on the headlight rim.
But if you have early early Hella headlamps, then the adjusting screws are at 4 and 8 o'clock.
John I thought they were for the later headlights 56 on

65busser I dont recall seeing this on any headlight rims ( but that dont mean much ) I am not sure what you mean do u have a pic ???

Thanks for all the info people, in fact I have 2 54's and one has this glass and one has the other kind with the VW logo.
I just wanted to really know what these were. I knew about the logo ones being correct but not these.
I am after 4 correct chome surrounds for them as both of mine have major dents and scuffs on them, if anyone knows where I can get the correct ones with the tab that would be great, I will check on the ones I have for srcew position,

so theres a tab on the underside onf the bracket instead of a space.... ?? so it hits on the guard is that right

now Dave the 12 to 6 o'clock position of the srews is so no snow settles in it and water can easily dry out thus preventing the 1100 cc not to have to carry extra water or snow (in Europe and Nth America . lol
