Fuel Gauge seems stuck

Hi guys,

Took the tank out of my Fasty to clean all the crap from 35 years of use before really giving the Suby motor a run. Now the fuel gauge seems to stay on full (maybe its magic tank like a Tim Tam packet!). I checked that the wire on the sender is on, all good.

As I tipped it in all directions to drain the crap could I have damaged the float or is it more likely stuck or something else. What should I try?

Thanks.

I love 242HP sleepers. 🤪

How many sets of lights does it take a $229k Carrera S to learn? 😂 UPDATE: Cayman S, M3, B4 now added to the list.

Hi
If you yake the sender out of the tank you will find a nut on the bottom undo the nut and clean everything in there. I have done this to three senders and all have worked better after.

hoe this helps

sounds like it is something inside jamming the sender, i would take it out and make sure it moves correctly, if it does then wire it back up and get someone to check the gauge is operating correctly as you move the float. that way you will know for sure whether it is the gauge or the sender.
see.... air and water do mix 😉
