I am looking into getting a Sidewinder exhaust from the US Manx Club (I don't think I can get one in OZ). The initial quote for shipping (don't know what company) is $US 245! I was expecting about $100. Before I talk to them again can anyone advise a good value method of shipping an exhaust, and how much should I be expecting to pay? A photo of the system can be found here:

Thanks

Pete

I think you will find that the reason it costs so much is the dimensions rather than the weight. IIRC someone else on here has gone through the same process and will hopefully give you some advice.

go on the ups or usps website and type in the rough dimensions and weight and it will give you a quote...but if you want cheap shipping then always go for sea..i paid $45 us via sea for every alloy that i shipped to germany from the us and they weigh about 12kg..

Thanks, USPS has always been good value for other stuff I have had sent (not car bits), I will get back to the Manx Club and check dimensions and who they ship with.

Latest estimate is about US$130 using USPS Airmail Parcel Post. Package is 38"x13"x10" and 28lbs. Should take about 10 working days and no need for a huge wad of paperwork as the customs value is less than $1000. Surface mail would be about 6 weeks, I would go nuts waiting!

Thanks,

P

Yeah 6 weeks if it actually rocks up. I still don't have my pistons & cylinders I ordered in may. You cant track it by surface, you can with the faster more exxy method. food for thought

Yup, Airmail is looking the goods. Actual quote came out to $115 US and about 10 working days. Seems like good value to me.
