C'mon kids gather round,
there's a new sensation hitting town,
It's moving straight, low to the ground,
it'll pick you up when your feeling down.
well magicly turn my notch into a beetle
anyone else.

When I did the headlining in my Statesman I am sure it oly cost $150 to supply and have them fit it. I think it was somewhere near Gorge Road. I have no idea how to do them myself and be sure that I don't stuff up so it was better to fork out a few dollars. I would offer to help but at the moment I don't have more than one day a week off and work 12 hours a day. However if you wat unskilled labour I can see what we can work out (Provided SWMBO is ok with it)
And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, for if you hit a man with a ploughshare, he'll know he's been hit
i believe that this is a tricky job steve
maybe ask how much for an auto trimmer to do???
i know they need some little rubber things in the ends of the rods????
dont think you will get help from 57kombi as he does not come in here no more
if you do want a hand i am willing to give it a base
cheers Paul
i have been told how to do it i just jneed a couple of people to help me.
so far i have got Paul Roberts, Mattie and Dad,
if i could get you out here one day Paul then that would be great.
steve
let me know when mate
Paul
Steve, any more than two peolpe and they are just getting in the way! Cut a dozen or so pieces of the door opening trim to about 150mm long and you have ready made temporary clamps. The bows are easy to install on your own and then work around from front to back at first to even things out, then move on to the sides. Once you have all the wrinkles out, contact small sections at a time so nothing moves out of position. On any of the overlapping plain pillar/window surround, turn about a 6mm edge and it gives a better look than the cut raw edge. Good luck on the fitting. Shouldn't take any more than a day with a stop for a few sherberts and at the end you can say "I did it" without shelling out hard earned cash.
How did you go with the P/B light switch? Do you need the wiring diagram for it?

1500s, i am having trouble with the extracors that i got for the car, i bought got them off a notch and there really good but they wont fit on my car, but they came off the other car no problems.
The muffler is actually hitting the panel at the back, but the car i got them off cleared no problems, any ideas what is wrong.
steve
Either the beaver panel on your car has had a slight push and hasn't got as much room between it and the fan housing or the car you got it off has had the panel pulled a bit to clear. Have you checked the distance on both cars? I'm still running a stock system but still have the extractors from the 69 notch. It has a "hotdog" style muffler and is a bit noisy for my liking. Still looking for a small oval type about 14" long. The ones on the extractors now with the offset inlet/outlet make the muffler too low and looks ugly. When you tell the spare parts guy that you want a small muffler as above like you used in 1968 there is a strange look from him! This one has had the outlet changed to the left to exit at the point of the stock unit. From memory it was a "Sonic" brand extractor.
Don't forget to blank off the fan housing heater air outlets if you aren't connecting the heaters straight away............. almost instant overheating if you don't!
