True story...
A woman rented a Citroen C4 in Budapest.
She drove from Budapest to Pécs.
Approximately 220km.
In 1st gear.
She thought it was automatic.
Attached the insurance photo's of the engine and the bonnet .

I got an even better dumb woman driver story......and its for real too.
My Aunt drives to city, parks on outsckirts in dodgey town (was poor and couldnt afford to park in city itself) Goes off to do the chores etc.
Comes back, car wont start. Tries again...Nothing. Calls RACQ...guy tries to start it...nothing. So then he looks under bonnet, and engine is gone...completely gone. Someone stole it.
So he tells her "someone stole your engine. this car isnt going anywhere, except by being towed. Will have to call a towie.
She says Why? can't u fix it now?
He says no, u have to go to police make report and get a new engine.
She says fine, but in meantime cant u just 'jump it or something' to get me started?"
Guy looks at her thinking shes joking.
She wasnt She was for real. She really thought he culd use a wire or leads or something to fix it.
In my aunts eyes, tyres/wheels and petrol = car should go.
Guy took pity, called police, photos etc taken and report lodged next day. He towed her home...over 30kms...for free.
How do I know this happened... She called my mum to ask what my mum thought could be done (mum worked in smash repairs) to get car started in morning,....Aunt thought the RACQ guy had no idea, he was young after all.
Its all true. And we often laugh about it. First thing asked when someone breaks down..."Have u got an engine still?"
And now u all know where i get my 'blondeness' from. 🙂
dubless. 🥲
🥷 And who the helled parked the Mitsubishi "Prancer" under my house??? 🥷
dumb question but what speed could she have reached during the 220km trip:duh
she must have been suspisious *sp* of why it was reving so hard or why the temp guage was throught the roff lol

that's unreal! both stories are unreal. i can't comprehend how someone could drive for hours (that's how long it would have taken!) and not have a little thought as to why it was revving so hard and why there was a burning smell. I can't get over it.

One man's junk...
wouldnt she have needed to use the clutch at some stage? then realised it wasnt an auto...
I have now stopped 2 females filling their engine blocks up with fuel.
Both had never filled cars before, husbands or driveway attendants have always done it for them.

reminds me of the time i went to fill the bug up with fuel and there was a silly woman inside arguing with the attendant that she had filled up her vehicle with the wrong fuel.
it was a land cruiser and she had filled it up with unleaded
when the attendant said she would have to get the tank pumped and put fill it with diesel, she asked for her money back... and couldnt understand why the attendant told her no way.
the attendant asked how she could have filled up with the wrong fuel, and she answered that her husband is the one that always fills the car...
if you dont know how to operate the car you are driving, then WHY drive it?
silly silly people🙄
in the beginning, the universe was created.
this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
If it aint broke,
Make it go faster!!
Heard the story years ago but recently saw the footage on one of those Worlds Drivers Most in need of a bullet programs - Bloke taking family on holidays, car is full, so decides to store stuff such as sleeping bag, tent, GAS BOTTLE etc etc in the boot, the front boot with the boody engine - then he wondered why the car was smoking and overheating - i was wondering why he hadnt been blown to bits!
🥷
Or there is the one about the young lady who very proudly did her own oil change after asking specifically how to do it. She was able to drain the sump, replace the sump plug, remove the oil filter, fit a new one, and then fill the engine to the correct level on the dipstick. All done correctly.
Took an hour to put the oil in though - Down the dipstick tube. 😂
Funny you say that Hellbus... the guy my aunty married is such a dopey dick that he too was trying to fill the car
up with oil through the dipstick hole... they were all wondering why it was taking him so long to do it until they
saw what he was doing! 🤪

unbelievable but true.
oh dear 😂
Let me out, When I call my name
IGOR is ALIVE !!!! 😎
I have to laugh at those stories. I guess that some people just take cars for granted and have no idea about them.
When I lived in the UK my cousin was an AA man (equiv of RACQ/V) when he found out I had a KG he told me a story of getting called out to a woman whose husband had spent a fortune buying her a mint condition KG and telling her to look after it as it was very special. So she's now very nervous of actually using it because of what her husband had said, well my cuz comes into the picture when he's called out to her because it wouldn't start and here's this near hysterical woman terrified of what her husband would say when he gets home. So my cousin starts checking the electrics etc and after a little while of trying to start it he realises he can't smell petrol, he pulls off a fuel pipe and it's full of water! She had opened the bonnet and made sure the radiator was topped up up before she went for a drive.
stoned mate of mine filled his triple weber slr torana up with deisel absolute fucking pisser didnt do much for the carbs though :P:P:P
