There doesnt appear to be a gap between the top of the rubbers and the bottom of the gutters - so maybe they have been grafted in.

The pic of the CSIRO van has cargo doors on the drivers side but it could have been a double door version.
Maybe they were using up old stock by putting on non indicator fronts small back window rears but it had push button doors and the corners were cut in and no proper deluxe frame thus they sit out as to recessed.
They could well have been cheaper and Csiro did not care for looks.
There was another member here put up a pic awhile back of the very same thing rusted out in Newcastle, will see if I can find it again.

found the original pics - the pop riveted door jams are a giveaway, subie conversion, cool graphics paint job. You remember these buses (poor special bus) - you can see the huge scoop under it too...
