well i was going to buy this for my bus, but have decided to pass on it because it needs some serious assembley, the engine is highly modified and has had alot of work done to it. the guy that owns it doesnt know anything about it really other than its been stroked to like 2.5ltr or thereabouts, and i dont really know that much about these types of engines so i just took some pics for you guys if someone on here wants to buy it. the guy doesnt know anything that much about it becasue it used to belong to his dad and hes since retired and given his hobby up so thats why hes selling it for him. its not mine, all im trying to do is help him sell it for someone that might want it. with my limited knowlege the heads have been ported and the piston are friggin massive i tell u, but ill show u some pics of this beast of an engine, to show you all what i am talking about. the guy only wants $1000 bucks for the whole lot which sound fair, you pretty much get all the bits in the pics and a few other bits which he has to dig up from his dads garage. but its best of you give him a call.THIS IS NOT MY ENGINE!so if you want some more details on this (his number) give me a u2u and ill point you in the right direction.
below are plenty of pics for all to view

Pretty wild looking intake ports on those two heads. You need to add some closeups of the combustion chambers to see if they are cracked and measure the valve sizes, but from looking at the intakes alone they look decent.
About the rest of the engine, looks like 92mm pistons but I could be wrong. 1835 or bigger depending on stroke...Measure it...?
The rods are stock as is the oil pump and you can only hope the crank isn't as well. Tell him to strip it down and provide some real data on the crank stroke and bearing sizes so as to give an idea of the life left in the parts.
yeah the dood that owns it, just wants to get rid of it, so let me know if your keen or interested.
cheers
judgeing from the distance between the oil rings and the gudgeon pins , it looks like a 'A' piston kit which would have a standard stroke . Stroker motors have the gudgeon pin sitting almost against the oil rings so that the piston can sit lower at TDC . probably 1835cc .

This is like a $1000 game of russian roulette! To bo honest (and not intending to be negative) no one will buy this stuff unless they know exactly what they are getting and the exact condition of it.
Yes those heads look seriously ported but if they are 040's and have been used on a performance engine i'd be supprised if they weren't cracked. For that same money you could have a brand new pair of 044 CNC ported wedge ports. This is why closeup photo's of the combustion chambers are needed.
As for the crank, crankcase etc, people will want to know if its been machined, and if so what sizes the bearings are. The rear main bearing support will need to be checked to see if the case needs align boring, or if its beyond repair/use.
Afterall, the engine must have been torn down for a reason so there's got to be something wrong with it.

yeah i understand you iswinkels, and others, just thought some one local might be interested. and im not really that knowlegeable in this field, so ive done as best i can to describe whats there, well i was in exsactly the same shoes as you iswinkels, and even so i dont know much about engines, which makes it even harder, if i had known what to take pictures of i would of, for you guys. but i was hoping if there was any interest, you could either just check it out yourselves. the guy that owns the engine (its at his workshop) well his father is the one who knows all about it so there is someone who knows about it.
any how if you want the doods number or details give us a u2u!
