No frenzix. Not only in America. They do that sort of thing in Europe as well. There they use 27 litre Rover Meteor V12s with two Jimmy 8-71 blowers on top.
The Rover Meteor is a detuned version of the Rolls Royce Merlin. It was built to go in the Centurion tank. It gives 650 horse power in standard form and over 2,500 when tweeked.
I've seen pics just like that one of Meteors blown up by too much boost.
