:o Methinks I would like to ask a few questions......(DISCLAIMER:KINDLY NOTE I AM NOT EXPRESSING MY POINT OF VIEW............JUST ASKING QUESTIONS)

its fine for girls to be gay then because it gets guys off...

:o Who said it was fine?

as if they would ever have a chance to join in. pffffft!

:o Cant anyone join in if one can pay the fee?......just like Elvis.

but gay males is revolting?

:o Why shouldn't/couldn't it be to some people ?

come now people, time to grow up and evolve with the rest of us

:o Why is accepting homosexuallity as 'normal/ok/acceptable' a sign of growing up and of evolving?

or just go crawl back into that hole you have just dug yourselves.

:o Why has one dug a hole for oneself if one does not accept homosexuallity as 'normal/Ok/acceptable'?

that cartoon isnt fucked up, its funny... if you cant see the joke in it perhaps you need to open your eyes a bit.

:o Does everybody have to see it exactly the way you see it?........Why....just maybe 'they' have got it right and you have got it wrong?

oh, and thanks for the lovely insults some of you have just slung at us who identify as gay/bisexual/transgender.

:o Why cant 'some' people find gay/bisexual/transgender as being an insult to them?

i for one think you arent normal because you cant just accept that there are other ways to be physical,

:o What is 'normal'?

:oWhen can 'somebody' draw the line in the sand and say something is not normal?

:oIf 'normality' (using your hypothisis) is based on the "acceptance that there are other ways to be physcial", should one then accept that anything between consenting parties is normality?

and hate what you dont understand...

:o What 'bit' don't some people understand in your opinion?

:oHas it crossed your mind that one can understand what is occurring and still not find it acceptable?

:o Do you believe understanding and accepting something, go hand in hand..........if so ..why?

seems the only way to open your mind is with a chainsaw...

:o How would that work? and how tolerant is that?

i suggest acceptance and tolerance, because its going to be a big headfuck if any of your children turn out gay.

:oAnd what would you suggest if ones kid turns out to be a pedaphile ?

And i thought all you peoples was way more tolerant that you appear to be typing...

I doubt it matters very much in the whole scheme of things what people are doing behind closed doors....except that they dont abuse someone elses rights.

I'd rather hear how a gay person made a wonderful difference to the lives of many people, because he accepted who he was ...wholley...and made a difference. Especially if the alternative is a 'hetero' who couldnt accept his preferred tastes, punished himself and his family because of it, and became someone with an incredibly demented ideal on how to contribute in society.

No one is saying you have to lvoe gays, be gays, or have sex with them. But they exist.

AS for terminology, if you wish to argue what is or is not a proper word...then eleminate "GAY' please. It was a term coined by heteros when the homosexuals amongst us decided they were entitled to the same rights as their hetero counterparts. It stood for

Good
As
You.

This was a phrase placed upon many plaquacards used in their 'rights' marches. Hetros then bought it down to "GAY"

So you see...its slang, and not an actual word either...same as homophobes

I think, and would stand against anyone who removes the rights of another, based on their sexuality or race.....especially if their rights have NOT interferred with the rights of others.

The fact that SBS screen particular shows, such as Gay Folk, doesnt mean you ahve to watch it. But if SBS show couples having sex, or groups having sex, you may just find the "GAY' people just as outraged, as it may in some cases offend them as much as 'gay sex' has offended you.

Yet, as a society we continue to tell the 'gays' that they is something wrong with what they do, the way they think, and who they love. Why, because they cant breed, and god says its wrong. Well...let GOD judge them when they die. If their not abusing your rights, then let it go.

I think seeing gays on TV is no more offensive than seeing scenes of people being killed overseas, children starving in the 'CARE' ads, of people who've escaped shark attacks being filmed with peices hanging off them whilst their still unconscience. And you know what I do when I come across something like this on my TV???? I CHANGE the channel. If its in a movie...i dont see the movie.

Pretty simple.

But, I know gays lesbians exist, as well as intergenders, transgenders and bi sexuals. I have had associations with almost every group....as well as blacks, whites, mixed races etc. And you know what...I judge them based on THIER actions...not who they love, what they wear, what they eat, or what religion they practise. But how they treat others.

And so far...they well ahead in the game than some of the peoples posting in this thread. Which is kinda sad cause I thought I knew some of you better than that...🙁..

:o As I am one of "all you peoples" you are refering to.....(correct me if I have got it wrong) BUT it appears to me you are only showing tolerance towards those people who are in agreeance with your views of acceptance towards homosexuallity.

:o Does that then not also make you intolerant ..............towards anybody with a differing view/opinion?:alien

I haven't seen the movie, but is this what cowboys do on those long range musters when the cows are proving hard to catch?

:oHaven't seen the movie yet......just read/heard some reviews.......but there are NO cows in the movie......only SHEEP in the movie and in that part of the USA.....!

Apparently that was done on purpose because if it was filmed in cattle country it would have been an affront to the 'macho' psyche of the American frontier history.

Maybe they should have called it "Sheepboys on brokeback mountain"........just imagine if it was scripted and filmed in New Zealand......the mind boggles:jesus

i don't care if someone is gay, i'm fine with it, I used to work with several. It's their life. AS LONG AS they don't try to change/convert/push it on me (same goes for religion and many other matters). Don't push it on me and I won't break your legs. Simple. :P:thumb

this is Steve's other half here.

the idea that being gay or lesbian is not natural is simply Christian bulls@$^%$ it is perfectly natural, no reproduction will occur from it but it is still a natural occurrence....

gay/lesbian animals exist aplenty and like their human counterparts they have some differences in their DNA that make them different.

they are not wrong or unnatural and they are certainly not evil just different.

:o Just curious why you singled out the "Christians" on this point when most religions (especially the Muslims)have a big fundemental no no for homosexuallity....whereas infact it is some Christian denominations that have 'diluted' their stand on homosexuallity.

Heheheheheheheheheheheehe, that is the funniest post that I have ever read the entire time I have been on this forum ! :thumb

No seriously, I have no thoughts either way on homosexuality. It is mt belief that you can't choose who you fall same sex or not. What does piss me off is the big "who har" about the whole thing. Today being a nice sunny day I thought that I would take my bug for a topless (the car not me!) crusie through StKilda and got held up in traffic due to a gay pride march, now really, I did not want to be stuck in a traffic jam which watching a 6 foot tall wonderwoman with balls followed by a group of old men wearing nothing but leather hotpants and studded dog collars marching down the street waving placcards. You don't see me or the millions of other straight people marching down the road waving our arms in the air chanting that we are straight?????? I think that a persons sexuality is private and should be kept that way.

cripes ... gives new meaning to the magnificent seven ride again ... guess it's a new take in a genre that has always been considered 'male', which is why the reaction, which is probably one of the reason$$$$$ that a studio would make it. Though think that most of these posts are more 'tongue in cheek' than anything else ... Like any section of society, as soon as stuff starts turning out in the mass media like 'Queer Eye' or some 'camp' character in a sit-com, it sets itself up to be lampooned, and indeed without the reaction, then the media would loose interest in putting money into 'em.

The cartoon, to me, with the 'female' in normal submissive mother stance cleaning dishes, is showing a disconnected father, representing the 'older' generation, and two boys who probably have not seen The Duke or Alan Lad movies, are acting out things that perhaps the family would rather not deal with.

Says more to me about family values and the influences of social conditioning than it does 'gayness'. It's more of a lampoon of 'baby boomer' attitude to the raising of 'boys' than anything. The American Cowboy is specifically an icon of male strength, which is when decontructed in this movie, unsettles the encumbent social order, and thus causes a fuss, which in tern sells seats.

Don't forget, Hollywood is foremost about making money, not a charitable advocate for change, gay or otherwise.
