At our work if it is your B'day you better have a slab of beer under your arm when you walk in the door.
If not then this is what you will be up for.
As you can see it is all in good fun and it is only done to those who are in agreeance with the ritual.
We don't touch those who would cry if you touched them.

some people are like slinky's
they have no useful purpose
but they are fun to watch
when you push them down the stairs
I would be thinking there should not be too much crying in the defence force?

You would be suprised.
I currently have one of my men trying to get me for harassment because i have given him extra responsability as he is my most senior worker.
He is the type of guy who wants the good stuff but isn't willing to work for it.
It just makes me sick. I am a patient man and very relaxed in our job which can get very stressful, but this person has brought out the regimental side in me.
Now every time i speek to this person i have to be careful what i say and make sure i have wittnesses when ever we speek.

What ever happened to (what's the word for doing whatever you are told, no matter what?). I would have thought that would be a prime charateristic required when being employed in the defence force.
I would expect that there would have to be a level of 'prick' required by senior management, along with fairness. That's my thoughts anyway. Crying would be expected, as we are all human, but so would getting over it - very quickly.
birthdays at my work the boss springs for a cake ,but my main daily work ritual is to stir the hell out of the storeman for the whole day😂👍

my day is boring
get up (6am)
Get to work at (6.59am)
Chat to the fellas going home
Walk to the kitchen order lunch and grab breaky
Find out what I got to do for the day ( not that I do it )
Hide, disappear, sleep & read the paper.
do a little bit of work ( just enough to say I have done something )
Lunchbreak
Do alittle bit of work always with a coffee in one hand
try to look busy
Dinner
7pm go home ( 12 Hrs Shift)
Do this 3 times a week and that my job routine.
If they would give me full internet access my day would be so much more productive as I could post here all day

Once worked at a place, where the bosses bought you a cake on your birthday ... but carrot cake was a sure sign they thought you sucked ... cheesecake for the up an comming, and of course mud cake for the in crowd ... no cake ... yer about to be screwed. Anyone else worked in Advertising??? lol....

my work ritual involves me stirring the shit out of my senior officer...then protecting her from the dummies...
we take in turns at shouting each other lunch....and mocking the faults of the boys who constantly stuff things up...and yes, we do it in front og them...
wanna know I we get away with it....
my mum is my senior....she retired from fulltime work about 12 months ago, only to be dragged back 4 months ago after the office staff quit all at once...good thing too...all the problems we found....whooo...
the new staff (one in particular) are constanting asking bizarre yet simple things...and often asking 2/3/13 times...after writing it down. As for the boys..they give me shit from the time i walk in the door til i leave (all good fun and never personal), but since i give it back...alls good.
and as for birthday cake...well u'd be lucky...
but mum and I have a stash of nice lollies that a few of us contribute too/sneak some from which only the 'good' ppls know about...its used during the overtime to keep them going. So if ur there working late u know about it...if not..well, u get the crappy ones the boss buys 🙂 Same with the coffee...
dubless. 🥲
🥷 And who the helled parked the Mitsubishi "Prancer" under my house??? 🥷

One of our rituals at work is to put the Aussie flag up on the pole each and every morning.
Half mast for rememberence day of course.
We are an Aussie company owned and operated. We are aussies proud of our country. My opinion personally "the flag is not that special to look at"
Took me 3 weeks to notice we had a flagpole, and I only noticed because my lift was late.
There's 2 rituals at my workplace, thats coffee, and cigarettes.
Walk in, switch computer on, go for coffee/smoke. repeat several times per day. Pisses me off since I do neither.
I work in a stores and my job involves teaching supposedly "quailifed tradesman" how to do their job and how to write off all the parts they use to the job. They whinge like little babies when there are no parts and then realise it is because they did not write them off for restocking. do not know how most of them are able to function in the real world. I guess bad habits are pasted on from teacher to students when they are "quailified":duh
would rather have brains than a certificate
Customer service is not dead in Australia.
Always after HAZET & MATRA & VW factory tools
-work ritual..
*All conversations must degenerate into crude scatological humour.
*pub, friday lunchtime.
*every friday must be hideously, frantically busy..a great way to start the weekend.
-ubiquitous litigious, shirking **sshole...(thankfully gone)
*played mmm on personal stereo despite other radio station consensually agreed upon playing on shop stereo
*asking when he'd accrued 'half a sick day' then taking half day off next day.
*ficticious 'physio' appointments, causing need to leave early(at the same time boasting of weekend soccer coach/ability prowess)
*after any physical labour, whining about 'back problems' and asking about 'compo' (thankfully, we've got legal personnel, ie 'bring the doctors' certificate')
*generally going about cracking tasteless ancient jokes, cracking onto female staff at any opportunity (you know, can't hurt to try) and spending up to an hour in the dunny every day.
*getting all rustled and mentioning 'harrassment' when anybody commented on his appalling work ethic.
bog'n'grumble
Yeap got em as well,
but then we were talking the other day about all the ones that have gone away... remember what happened if you were in for 20 and you were discharging in the 'good old days' Lee?
I miss strapping ppl to a chair and driving them all over base to be covereed in grease/oil/whatever........ 😉
'Ah, whatever................'
We tied a bloke to a chain wire fence covered him in many an unsavoury substance and then washed it off with a fire hose, while drinking the carton of beer supplied by him in front of him till we had drank the whole carton.
then left him there a while before cutting him down.
Or strapping a guy into a harness and sending him up the tower and swinging him around, once again we used a fire hose for something too.
