Great day, seemed to be thousands of cars, good showing of Vws, not much shade though! Was fun to cruise up there not only with all the VW cars but also all the other old classics. Here is a few shots from the day, more to come.

Thanks guys, on the whole I got a good reaction, had a guy come up who worked for hertz in the late 60s, and he remembers them renting out beetles, so Im on the hunt for old photos now. Met a bunch of great folks on the day, pity we didnt have a few more cars (Kustomkool, what happened mate!).

A couple of the older guys in Kombis looked on in disaproval as I passed them on the cruise up that BIG hill. I gave a polite wave but to no avail. Anyway you cant please everyone, and most of the folks were fantastic people that I was very pleased to meet.

I wouldn't worry about what some of the club members think!!!!! When I pulled up the new vice president of the VWCV commented on how my new beetle cabrio was too fat and if I drove a "real Volkswagen" then it would be able to fit in the teeny tiny car space that was left.

Some people are just jealous of those who break the moulds and have some creativity. After all if everyone did the same thing and restored their VW's to original specs than how boring would it be to go to events ..... Wow, another beige 1965 beetle WoooHoooo! I love your bug, I think that it looks ace and you should be congratulated for doing something different and attention grabbing. My favourite bug of all time was VWFOOL's yellow Taxi and now that is gone and I have to say that I am very fond of the Holiday rentals bug. It was great to see your bug on an event and hopefully will see you at more.

It's not hard to upset some of that crowd. It is a good start though.
