ok heres the deal, i have just been in contact with a fella that used to be very heavily involved in drag racing in the usa.
He moved here (QLD) and brought tons of parts with him. now he is gettign on in years and to cut a very long story short the wife has told him to clear out his stuff...
How a friend of a friend was offerd the stuff and he directed him to me, there are all sorts of engine parts carbs tools to suit just about anything to do with performace engines. give u an idea he has scat cranks,piston/barrels all brand new carbs of all shapes and sizes a complete engine and gear box for a 356,sets of carbs for said engine.... i could go for hours with what he told me and in his words"thats just the tip of the iceberg"
When i spoke with him he is very keen this stuff goes to a good home(a vw freak) i myself woudl love to grab it all but i think he will be wanting to much money for just me so the reason for this post is to see if anyone is really serious about buying in. I know that no one will do anything till i have a full list of just what is there..
i hope to see him over the weekend and i should have a better idea of how much he wants for the lot and just what is there....

Ok i have been to see him and there was just to much to go through in the time we had. So he is going to go through it all and give me a call whenhe has a full list. now please bear in mind he is in his 70's so i doubt it will be done in any hurry(mite be wrong)
From what i say its only engine parts and tools that he wants to get rid off, i saw 4 sets of brand new 92 barrels &pistons a whole pile of standard german 1600 barrels and pistons, heaps of brand new cranks from standard to stroker,some near new that just need a polish,carbs of all shapes and sizes.
In his words he thinks he has all the parts to build about 4 2180 engines bar the case's of which there was only one and i have it :P
There is a load of tools that are all for vw and do different jobs like bland new valve seat cutters some that i had never seen or heard off...
There is heaps of stuff that i didnt get to see and even more he knows he has but cant remember where(He was telling em about 6 original empi shifters he has somewhere) there are manuals for every vw ever made and i huge collection of hot vw mags.
This man truly knows his stuff and was very much involved with any form of hot engined vw in the 60's. He worked along side gene berg for may years so he really does know his stuff...
He also mentioned he woudlnt mind building up an engine or two so i so kindly offered my case for trial run... on that side of thigns i will let you know how it goes and performs ..
i am sorry it is draging on a bit but it will be worth it, as i get news i will pass it stright on to you all.........
