I'm in the market for some pop out windows for my 74 L bug.

Can anyone tell me about the size difference on rear windows, from what years did the window size change?

i.e: would a 65 model window be the same as a 74?

Cheers,
Ash x

Pop outs are different in Aussie to the rest of the world.

In Aussie all Pop outs will inter change up to 1967 then they get bigger from 68 n up.

So you need a set from 68 n up to fit your 74

there available complete from Vintage Vee Dub in Sydney n come with all new hardware n seals. Give them a call 02-9789-1777
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

They will either sell all new or 2nd hand

I bought a 2nd hand set up off Vintage.
For that you need to give the glass a dam good clean and change the outer rubber over

The hinge "may" need some panel beating

Just make sure you get the ones with the rear latches that mount through the glass, not onto the frames (like the early ones) - they are easy to tell apart, and the late ones are much more common and a lot less expensive which is good news for you.

I dont want to get new ones, and i've seen what the price tag is like for the ones from Vintage, plus being in Perth i then have to pay for shipping on top of that 👎

Ebay has a few, thats why i just wanted to check on what would fit Mildred?

Just be a little careful

I have not seen a set cheaper than .... say $150 and they were crap. Rubbers shot, missing hinges and latches - let alone hinge covers.

I paid $300 for mine from Vintage complete.

Most of the swap meet ones are like $200 - 250 and still need work

get a price list of the things you will DEFINITELY need
* rubbers
* hinge covers
* screws

Then get prices for the may bes
* hinges (bloody hard to get seperatley)
* latches (bloody hard to get seperatley)

Add this to the ebays and see what you come uo with
