Hi Karmen,

Sorry I forgot to say that it is for a 1964 beetle. Will a golf master cylinder fit this? Kinda looking for 1968 on dual master cylinder for a beetle.

Cheers,

Matt.

you need spacer blocks on the outside to fit the type3 ones.
Easy to do and work well.
I have run the type 3's on all my early beetles and buggies

Karmen,

Are you able to take a pic? Does it require any alteration in order to get it into the same position? Could be a viable solution. Where are the line positions on the cylinder itself, as when mounted it is very close to the channel and frame head.

I currently have a type 2 (i think) dual brake circuit with dual resivour on top of the cylinder itself, but i don't think that it is going to be a good option (too much modification/hassel). (thread is under tech talk)

May have to check out the wreckers etc. Will have to source a price for a new 1 just to see what type of dosh I am looking at.

Anyone else wanting to get rid of some unused brake parts?:thumb

cheers,

Matt.

buy a new brake master cylinder n save your self a lot of problems. Make sure you get a German ATE cylinder as the Brazilian ones are crap.

the rear brake line has to be bent slightly in order for it to fit in the correct position bend carefully as you might kink or brake the steel line
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true
