Is a FREE voice over IP phone system. Think of it like MSN for phone calls. You can get cordless handsets or USB handsets or just use yer PC speakers and mic.
It's dead easy to use. You can see who's online like messenger, hit the call button and talk as long as you like fer free, and do conference calls digitally etc., but you can do that with messenger right....
Syke lets you call REAL PHONES for low low money too.
The cool part is that you can also buy credit for calls to landlines like 0.02c a minute internationally - and that's mobiles too. You just dial.
Anyway for those that have wifes that like to talk, or are just sick of paying for mobile calls etc., then if you're online then you might as well talk fer nix.
Runs like messenger, but it's a phone - so you can sit in the lounge and 'skype' for nix round the world, or make el cheapo calls to normal phones and mobiles. It's pay as you go, no contracts and comes is uninstall.
There are a few VOIP apps out there, this one seems to be the weapon of geek choice.
Anway, now you can get a skype user name and stalking talking VW shit on the phone or in conference calls for nix using the 'puter.
Death to telco rip offs....the clock is ticking ... watch out for similar systems on mobiles next year....enjoy it while it lasts Vodaphone....
