Hi I was just woundering what a type3 fastback tle is worth.
My grandmother passed away recently and my mother is going to sell the car but has no idea what its worth!
It is a 1971, my grandmother bought it in 1974, the only damage she put on the car was 6 months ago when she backed into a ute in a car park, breaking the tail light (replaced) and a small dent where the tail light fits.
It has been parked under cover since she got it and has no rust that I can see.
Starts easy and gos great for an old car (it has fuel injection)

I Just reread this and it sounds like an add (sorry)

It owes us nothing and we could just give it to a wreckers for bugger all but it would be much nicer to have someone that can appricate a very clean standard car.

Regards.
Matt Douglas

P.S. I am a Toyota person and there are some old rare Toyotas I would want to know about before they went to the wreckers.

i couldnt say, maybe a couple of K? is it a manual? its unfortunate, since these cars are so great to drive, but there is not half the market for them as there is for beetles and kombis.

Type3s and in particular late ones do tend to less popular that almost all other aircooled VW's but if it as described it would have to be over 1.5k-ish. Hard to say without seeing the car.

Hey I live just around the corner from a really nice looking first model (dunno the model code sorry) corolla. Cool olive green too. Nice. Never seen it move, just sits in the drive. Tassie is good like that.

Thanks guys
The car looks like its less than 5 years old condition wise and yes its manuel.

The first corolla was a ke10 and its not that special unless its a slightly different variant like a levin or sprinter. Oh oops wrong forum to start spouting Toyota crap.

Still could be a good excuse to go to TAS I love it down there.

Thanks again
MATT.

A late type 3 has a market value of around 3k. Examples with working fuel injection are not that common anymore, most have been ripped out and replaced with carbs. If it is as good as it sounds, with no rust, it would be a complete waste to send it to the wreckers. You should at least try advertising it for sale first. Is it rego'd and roadworthy? I reckon if you posted an add here, carsales, maybe even ebay you would get something for it. That's go tto be better than the couple of hundred a wrecker might give you.

Put up some pics or e-mail me them and I'll do it. Pics get the interest up.
