Every sticker tells a story! It's just a fun car so I let friends and family put on a sticker from wherever they go and then I do too so it's a tradition now! Some day I'll have a looker that will be immaculate but this baby is a fun car and a keeper.Bone Collector wrote:cool, looks like you like a sticker or 10.

I was driving too fast, talking on the mobile and not noticing that the river I was driving beside had burst it's banks and then when I rounded the corner i hit the water that had overflown! Interesting getting it out but it was like a cartoon cuz once i opened the doors the water flooded out! i took out the plugs, turned the engine by hand and water poured out and then i fired it up. Good as new! ........well, apart from the interior, that took alot more tlc to get back to it's original condition.oval TOFU wrote::duh
How the hell did you end up in the drink like that?! and how did you manage to get it back out?
Love the GT badge... 😉

Easy answer - Budget! I didn't have the cash at the time to get a new stainless one and the replacement ones that were in my budget rust before you can get them on the car!buzzbug wrote:Great looking gt mate.
Just one question though.
Why do you have wing mount indicators and also ones in the front bumper?

The Gt was a limited edition that VW made in Europe. 2500 were made with close ratio gearboxes, 1600 engine and disc brakes.koolkarmakombi wrote:wots a gt?

I still have the original Lemmertz wheels but i had to replace them as they were so badly damaged that I couldn't balance them. I hope in time to be able to track down some replacements.DUB74L wrote:all the GTs ive seen had those USA fuel injection rims that were on all late 70s bugs and cabrios in the states
are they called Lemmertz GT Wheels?
yours are chrome sunrasias/mangles arent they?

Thanks Rob. Yeah, the car is in the family for good. My 8yr old nephew asked can he have it when I die! I hadn't really been thinking that way but obviously he is planning ahead! Little does he know but at the rate I'm getting work done it may not be ready by the time he's ready to drive.Robo wrote:Looks like your doing some major work there. But she's worth it! Great to see you have a wonderful connection with your car.
