brought a 1776 of this site ,pulled it apart before firing it as it was a new unstarted motor .besides having the wrong bearings and crank in it when i removed the clyinders and pistons i found the 90.5 barrells were loose in the case spigot hole this hole measures 97mm does anyone know what barrells will fit in the case side for this measurement or do i need a new case or should i go the 1916 option this is my first engine rebuild and its doing my fucken head in please help .i have 90.5 mahle barrells that are brand new that could be swapped for another size to suit my case .thanks chris

Don't forget that Rosko is a sneaky bastard. He'll find a way to trump you all.
Hope there's a simple solution somewhere over the horizon mate.
already learning the ins and outs of a type 4 build that guy with the black and orange split is building one :P:thumb

a' hoy chris
found some info on mahle/cima
90.5mm- standard stroke-case 96mm, head 98mm
90.5mm- for stroker crank- case 94.4mm,head 97mm
92 mm- standard crank- case 96mm, head 98mm
92mm- stroker crank- case 96mm, head 98mm
94mm- standard crank- case 97.25mm, head 101.1mm

Pusher baby,
I've got a 1916 here with a naismith CW crank, and some
sort of mildly sexy cam. Stock heads to suit bore. It'd need bigger valved heads to *really* honk.
The case leaks oil from a small crack where someone got over excited
tapping the front boss for a full flow connection.
It has external filter fittings and cooler.
It would all go into a better (uncracked boss) case...I
could tap another case for the full flow stuff.
I was going to build it into another case for leo but went
the big type 4 route instead.
I paid $600 for it a few years ago.....I'd sell for what I paid for it and watching you drink a large caramel latte at GJs................
(You could still be up
for yet more bearings depending on journal and case sizes though.....)

Damn Rob if he doesn't want it I could be tempted?
90.5mm- standard stroke-case 96mm, head 98mm
90.5mm- for stroker crank- case 94.4mm,head 97mm
I assume the 2nd is a B piston??
Why would it be smaller for a stroker??
The 94's arent??
Futue te ipsum!!!
Bizare,
The 90.5's for STD crank have a thicker wall.
Cheers
No worries ruckus....
(Or are we doing the old one-two on the pusherman?
Normal percentage? But perhaps we had better move to the for sale section?....)
regards

And the best fruit toast in Geelong! Fri at 9am is good.
Alternatively, you could buy another case and get it set up for the bits you have (90.5 etc, align bored to suit whatever crank/bearing sizes you have etc ) and sell me the 1916 case and I’ll set that up and put my bits in that (assuming the 1916 case is dual relief and not already max align bored……).
Hanky would have a decent dual relief case there somewhere?
???????????????????????????
Sounds like there might be a spare engine for me in all of this?!
Goody!
And yeah Rob I'm not just taking the piss, sounds like a good option.
